I'm surprised he thinks you are and not me. I went to Delaware yesterday and grabbed a hickory hill single barrel barrel strength and redemption high rye total wine barrel pick.

The redemption is really good, the hickory hill has a very distinct taste that I can't put my finger on. It's good, but I need some more time with it

I saw a store pick redemption high rye today too but went for the little book

merry Xmas to me

I feel like angels envy varies from bottle to bottle. I've had some that were just basic bourbon, and some that tasted like fruit loops

I don't. I was just actually curious how much whiskey you have.

Made an Old Fashioned with it. Better that way

Love the normal small batch. Had select at the distillery last year, its delicious

In the server update I lost the recommendations for what to do with my bottle of Ardberg...

I suggested making a rob roy with it

I'm looking for suggestions. I'd like a fine rye that could double as a mixer for old fashioneds. Generally budgeting around $50-60/btl. but could go as a high as $70.

I'd look into high west double rye. Can be had for 35, and it one of my new favorites for rye

Are you set on spending the 50$? Bulleit rye isn’t quite that expensive, but it’s very good. Give it a shot(and save some dough).

I'm not set on spending any amount, but I'm willing to pay for quality. I've had Bulleit a few times at bars in my old fashioneds. It was good, but I've never purchased a bottle of my own to explore. I've been drinking Pikesville recently, though, and it has great depth. A pleasant mix of smoke and vanilla.

Always down for a quality bottle, no matter the price. I just want character.

Whistlepig 10 year is a nice bottle. Been on a Bulleit kick as of late. Strictly a more bang for the buck thing.

Boxergrail? The price is right. That might be the ticket. Have to special order it in PA, though.

I had the Rittenhouse Rye over the weekend.  That snuck up on me fast.  Definitely enjoyed it though.

Bulleit and Woodford and 2 of my favs

For Christmas my wife didn't know what else to get me so I got a bunch of liquor

  • Makers Mark 101 proof - not bad but I prefer Makers 46
  • 1792 - a favorite among cheaper bottles
  • Belle Meade Sour Mash Bourbon - made locally here, great stuff and great value for the price
  • Jefferson's Very Small Batch of Blended - pretty simple flavor profile and too much toasted oak for me, it's bordering on scotch.  I like the aged at Ocean better
  • Hendricks' Gin - have always wanted to try as I've gotten more into gin in the last couple years.  Haven't opened it yet.

Hendrick’s is great stuff. Very smooth.

Havent tried Belle Meade yet

bought a bottle of TX texas bourbon in michigan this weekend. Holy barrel char
