Not that that I have the most extensive collection right now (I'm really just getting started), but I do keep coming back to Boxergrail. It's a nice sipper (and mixer). Surprised it's only aged three years ("at least," in their terms), because it goes down nice and easy. They tell you a lot of information on the bottle, right down to the barrelmaker. Definitely a worthwhile buy. Thanks for the suggestion, Toast!

Love that bottle. Beat kept secret. Am mulimg some back to my buddy in PA

Is Chatanooga distributing in PA?

Chatanooga has a port cask finish released now too. Gotta try that

I tried looking them up on the state store's website, but no hits, so it seems that they're not shipping here currently.

local Kroger has boxergrail at 42. nice...

Smoke wagon uncut unfiltered is a real mans whiskey. Just a splashof water is all it needs

One of my favorites. Always try to pick up a few bottles per year. High West did a dram finish that was really good as well.

I managed to get two Act 8 bottles this year

i hunt that bottle every damn year

Anyone have any good recommendations for a good run that is fairly readily available to pick up as a gift for a friend tomorrow?

Assume you mean rum? I dont know rums im afraid. Recall liking Zacapa in the islands but that was years ago

managed to grab an elijah craig rye passing through ohio this week

I'd second what TJ said. I don't drink much rum, but my dad had Zacapa a few years back around Christmas. It was pretty tasty, and I think it can be had for about $35/btl.

So, what's everyone cracking for the draft tonight? I'm going over to a former boss' house to watch it. He's retired, so I'm just gonna raid his extensive liquor cabinet :D

Old fashions most likely.

I have a few bottles of Larceny left over from my COVID liquor store raid that I want to get rid of... won’t ever drink them straight but they’re not bad for cocktails.

Perfect. Old Fashioneds are my go-to. I would've bought a bottle of rye and mixed some up, but I'm not trying to drive with an open bottle of whiskey, lol.

I bought along some beers and am sipping a nice cognac right now.

We have Bulleit Rye. Score.

EC rye started distributing to Indiana. its good

I also scored two bottles of weller antique 107

Really liking the EC rye neat at 30 bucks

Picked up a store pick OF

Good to hear. I was talking with a guy and who said that Elijah Craig was his go-to. I was a little surprised, thinking of them as pretty cheap, but it sounds worth a try. Seems like they're only selling bourbon in PA, though.

I like the rye far better than the bourbon

According to Breakingbourbon, E.C. Rye is an "ongoing nationwide release," so hopefully it'll make it up to Pennsyltucky sooner or later.

Larceny BP is really nice

regular is fine if you like wheaters. Makes a good lemonade mixer

It JUST came to indiana a few weeks ago finally

Is Jameson Cold Brew sacrilege?

Truth be told, it’s pretty good.

Got talking to a guy at the liquor store and turned out he was the owner of a distillery up in Frederick. Bought a bottle to try his product out.

Bootjack Rye

Had really good reviews. Won some awards even. Personally, it isn’t my favorite and not really worth the markup that a fledgling new distillery is going to charge in my opinion.

It’s not bad, mind you, just not something I’d spend $45 on other than to support a local business. There are better bottles for a lot cheaper. You can still get Sazerac under $30 which I’d say is probably dollar for dollar the best deal around.
