I’ve been into rye as well. Think I’ll be going more towards bourbon though as temperatures increase over the summer.

ECBP dropped scored two bottles of the B521 today

Cracked a bottle of makers cask strength tonight. Wanted to compare it to the makers wood finishing bottle I bought a couple months ago. It's crazy how much more mellow the wood finishing series is, even though it's only .5% ABV less than cask strength

Will log on to the NJ distro site (BevNet, not to be confused with SkyNet) Tuesday at work to see if it's available and who has it.

Shops out here did dome big fathers day raffles but i didn't partake. Only a few on my hit list left like elmer t lee and stagg jr

dude sold me a weller FP last week that was supposed to be in that raffle

I was picking up a case of wine today, and this "baby" caught my eye for $27.99. First-time buyer, so I feel like my collection just got a lot more legitimate.

Very good stuff. I bought a case of 12 recently…

Also Smooth Ambler single barrel rye can rival WFE rye

Drowning my MIL stress in old forester rye

Damn.  How much did they have that they were letting people buy whole cases?  They should have a limit to discourage people from doing that.

Yeah one bottle limits are typical. No idea why they didn’t restrict it. I just want one to drink…

Buddy opened a blantons sftb tonight. 130 proof

Goes for 250 on the secondary. In a word? Overrated…

That’s my house rye. Awesome price/quality ratio. Can drink it straight or use it for cocktails.

Pretty sure I mentioned it a few times in here before.

ECBP B521 is solid. Not sure why its getting slammed in reviews for low proof when its over 59%

Probably just because it's the 2nd lowest (or lowest, though IIRC it's the 2nd lowest) proof they've ever done and some people are stuck on high proof Whiskies only.  Higher the better so if it's not up to their desired standard then they already have their mind made up before trying it that they don't like it much.

The Legent is pretty good for 42. Clearly has scotch elements from the Sherry casks. Thankfully the wine casks are muted and subtle

Cracked the Sazerac for a night cap. I love the smoke on the nose enveloping the rye spice. Definitely some citrus in there, too. Very smooth on the palate, and a bit sweet and weighty toward the middle, but the proof really catches up on the finish with a nice, lingering burn. Love it. Can't believe it's so cheap.

I'd like to make a proper cocktail with this, but appears you need Absinthe to do it right? Damn. PA will not be kind to this endeavor.

Making a good sazerac is tricky
