Until the election shouldn't we be pumping MORE money in there to patch up what we got until that's over? And most of all, shouldn't the f'ing job of our government in this situation be reassuring us that they are doing everything inn their power to shore up mail voting as best they can? Mail in votes happen in every election year and the USPS handles them just fine. You apply to vote by mail and you get a ballot in your mailbox that you can return via USPS. The reason it has become an issue in this election is that Democrats in congress have been pushing for a federalized universal mail in voting process due to the pandemic. Meaning, that ballots would be automatically sent to every registered voter in the country. That was shot down from a funding perspective so now states are trying to do it on their own. Everyone is making this De Joy appointment out to be somehow in response to the effort to federalize mail in voting. It's not.

I'm sure there won't be an order of magnitude more people voting by mail this year.

The states that aren't should be fine.

Just remember that it was Democrats that demanded universal mail in voting when this election turns into a complete CF. There is no reason we couldn't have used the application based mail in process that most states have been using for years without issue.

Yeah I'm pretty sure you're gonna be wrong on that claim that only states with universal mail in voting will have issues with scaling up due to the surge in mailed ballots.

Maybe, but we sure as hell didn't need universal mail in on top of it. Just added insult to injury.

The southern states keep reducing polling locations, forcing people to stand in line for hours to vote. Which for some makes it impossible.
