1) Once again, there is no such thing as "political suicide" for a politician that can't run again.

2) You all told us he was different.  He wasn't like those swampy politicians that only cared about staying in power and politics.  He wants to balance the budget!  He literally campaigned on erasing the entire national debt.  Not the deficit, THE ENTIRE DEBT.

3) why couldn't he find those "hundreds of billion to trillions of dollars" to cut the last time he was president?  You realize the deficit shot up significantly after he was elected, right?  And I'm talking about before the pandemic hit.  Wait let me guess, this time he really really really means it when he says he's going to erase the national debt.  He pinky promised!

Libtards: REEEEE, what!!!? You mean you don't think Trump is going to instantly solve 90 years of government mismanagement and completely eliminate the deficit ushering in a new golden age where the federal government runs at a surplus? I bet you feel pretty stupid for not voting for the party directly responsible for implementing all the insolvent entitlements that are currently ravaging the budget.

But he at least made a little bit of progress in his first term, right? Set the foundation a bit? Or nah?

Lol no, just looking forward to all the excuses that will be forthcoming when Trump, just like last time, oversees trillion dollar deficits every year he is president.
I know I know, this time he really means it when he says he’s going to eliminate the deficit.  Not like last time when his policies lead to a significant increase…

Yeah, you were very careful to include the word "loans"  For some reason I'm sure EVs will still end up costing the government billions of dollars after DOGE is done. Weird.

The tweet you were responding to was about canceling the LOAN to Rivian.  That's what started this whole back and forth.

Yeah, and I'm curious if you think Elon will go out of his way to cut other EV funded efforts to save the American taxpayer.

I have no idea.  Only other ones I can think of are the subsidies to EV buyers.

I can't wait for the left's meltdown when PBS gets thrown into the wood chipper.

Not really since they only get around 15% of their funding from CPB.

Hating on PBS/NPR funding given our current fiscal situation is like getting pissed about a hang nail when you have a brain tumor.

They're not concerned with the fiscal situation. They just want to piss off liberals.

Naah, pissing off liberals is just an entertaining byproduct

Of defunding PBS?

Trump still watches sesame street when he needs to refresh those math skills of his. No chance he defunds PBS.

Honestly I do t get how you can hate on NPR/PBS.

Like, oh no, the super liberal, uh, British dramas, Ken Burns documentaries, and Prairie Home Companion.

I don't hate on it.  I see it as a largely unwatchable broadcast that could never stand on its own without government funding.  We don't need it.

if I'm wrong, cut the Federal funding and let them prove me wrong on their own.

It's silly. Of all the things to harp on "not needing".

We're trillions in debt and people want to fund PBS? Liberals truly are retarded.

It's thinking like this that has gotten us to where we are.  All these little things add up to hundreds of billions in the budget.  I only brought it up because liberals always implode when Republicans say we're going to cut it.

Although, I see now that it stands almost no chance of survival that you all are acting like you don't care.

cutting funding to PBS should be next to last on the list.

again, start the cutting by taking away DC's lifetime health benefits. make them all go on obamacare.

Bro, cut it.  I don't watch PBS or listen to NPR. My point is your motivations for budget cuts are muddied and it's gainfully obvious.
