Super Bowl LIX lead up: Chiefs vs Eagles February 9, 2025

Featured Replies

I feel like the Eagles were playing very vanilla through 19 games. Toying with their prey. Then we saw the beast in it's full glory and no longer in a playful mood and it ripped it's prey to shreds. The chiefs have many issues but the biggest issue they have right now is that we didn't put anything they are likely to see on tape. Knowing what we saw and the way Moore was setting them up in the game using older concepts. They still have no clue what's in front of them. The chiefs are about to get hit with an overwhelming force from a grand master chess player.

I hope you’re right, but Andy Reid and Spags aren’t checker players either. We’ll have to take the win from them.

We have a very low chance to win this SB. I would have much preferred the Bills.

Oh well. At least the Iggles had a good season.

See ya next September!!

Nah, we are having another awesome parade in Philly!

Moore is smart enough to have saved plays that the Chiefs have never seen. We have something for KC, and they can't handle it.

I’d say it’s 50/50, both teams can win in a close game, both teams play good defense, both teams can move the ball on offense in a variety of different ways.

I think we’re the better team, but it’s going to come down to game plans, adjustments and of course execution.

As much as you guys might not want to believe it the game is going to be in the 30’s. Last week Washington killed themselves with turnovers. Without them the game would have been closer. The Chiefs don’t get many but they haven’t been giving many. Barkley is awesome and will get his regardless. It will come down to Hurts and his ability to handle the pressure he will see. If he handles it well you will win, if not you won’t.

I'm not sure it will come down to whether one player can perform, and it wouldn't really be fair to blame one individual if we lose

Jalen Carter must be his most focused and Disciplined against the Chiefs. He is not going to get away with a lot of the "extra" ish he does at times on the field.

The biggest mistake of the off-season is trading Reddick for chump change in the window of a Super Bowl run and not bringing in a pass rushers specialist vet.  I think having high end pass rushers is invaluable and we’re very low on depth there this season.

While I do want us to win… it would be great to see the right calls get called

Reddick wanted top dollar and didn’t produce his last year with us

Okay guys so HOW DO WE BEAT THE CHIEFS?

No matter how big or small your understanding of football is, I want to hear what you think we need to do on offense, defense, special teams, and coaching to dethrone the Chiefs.

This will probably sound simplistic but the game can’t be close. The Eagles are physically better almost everywhere and they need to play like it and get a sizable lead. If it’s close going into the 4th quarter I’ll be whatever the opposite of confident is.

The Chiefs have scored 30+ 3x including playoffs.  Tampa, Carolina and Buffalo.

Scored under 25 9x including playoffs.

We have scored 30+ 7x and under 25 6x.

Both Ds are good.  Our D is better.

FWIW, in both cases, the last two Eagles NFL championships blocked threepeats for their opponents

things come in threes, dont they???

One scheme matchup I don’t like thier short passing game vs our defense. The Fangio defense prevents the big play, we’ve got a dline that can get to the passer with 4, stop the run with just 6-7 in the box, but we’re susceptible to short, repeated passes. We swarm, we tackle and we generate turnovers by knocking the ball loose. If teams are efficient and protect the football and have the patience to take the 4-5 yard passes all the way down the field we’ve given up several 10+ play drives to the red zone. Reid loves the short passing game and Mahomes can execute it. We have to get a couple punch outs and force FG’s.

Yeah both teams are built to win ugly. Its going to be really close.

The game really comes down to how Jalen Handles  Spags blitzing  him.  Thats pretty much  it.

And we ended up signing Bryce Huff to $3/30m GTD to be a 3rd string DE. Instead of letting Reddick Hold out/throw him a bonus and he could’ve been a comp pick in 2026.  With Slay/Bradbury likely being off the books, we had money for Reddick.

Even with the trade - we should’ve found a way to find another mid-season FA/Trade option to bolster the position.

Both Ds are good.  Our D is better.

Run the ball, quick easy timing throws - eat clock - end drives with TDs. You stop KC by limiting their possessions - and making sure you capitalize on yours.

I’m always worried about a Fangio Defense vs competent QBs who will take 6 yards every pass and not force the issue. The death by 1000 cuts is okay if you’re scoring touchdowns and only allowing the opponent FGs. It eats the clock, if we’re doing the same.

I think we need an offensive drive or two with 9-13+ plays, soaking up 8-10 minutes and ending in TDs. Really bleeding the clock and keeping defense fresh and KC offense stagnant on the sidelines.
