Posted March 1Mar 1 He one of the only 4 Eagles with 2 rings. He made one of the greatest plays in Eagles history. He is one of the most inspirational Eagles player and probably the most loved. The way he overcame adversity and became the leader of the defense. He is going to retire an Eagle. He has played more games for the Eagles than anyone else. Yes fight me, but I 100% believe BG >> Reggie White and is the greatest Eagles player of all time. Lane or Hurts is maybe 2nd.
March 1Mar 1 Definitely the highest ratio of appreciation to on-field production in franchise history.
March 1Mar 1 Reggie had 124 sacks in 121 games as an Eagles. Reggie has The Reggie White Stuff in a playoff game but was coached by HC morons. BG has 76.5 sacks in 206. If the guy who cleans the toilets is there for 30 years, is he even better than BG? I mean if he retires as an Eagles toilet cleaner? Not only does he have 2 rings, he also makes sure the toilets have zero.

March 1Mar 1 Might be the Greatest Eagle, but not close to the Greatest Eagle player. I kind of remember some people calling him a "bust" in his first few years.

There was no kind of about it lol. The boards and media trashed him. Including gaining weight while injured. It wasn't until he was coming off of the bench and was super productive in that rotational role that he was seen as a decent player. Even then, most people still stuck to downing him over not taking Earl Thomas.
March 2Mar 2 I understand the preference in putting him above Reggie due to Tenure and rings. But even then, Lane becomes #1 because he’s been a flat out better player their entire careers

Definitely a good argument for greatest Eagle but people want the flashy position

You really can't go wrong. Each cookie is enjoyed while we have them. So, it's not this one versus that one. It's this one and this one and this one. Altogether, good. And, the player's don't do it alone. For a RB or QB to play well, the OLine needs to be on point. For example, Eli Manning with good OLine = 2 SB. With bad OLine, he sucks. Mahomes with bad OLine sucks. Same thing.
March 2Mar 2 Reggie had one of the greatest DE seasons of NFL history in 1987. 21 sacks in 12 games. As has also been mentioned, 121 sacks in 120 games. I love BG, if they had a Kelly Green LIX 55 jersey available, I'd have already ordered it. But Reggie was and still is the greatest DE of all time.
March 2Mar 2 Greatest? Reggie, Lane, Saquon, Jason, Chuck, perhaps Norm (accounting for differences in eras)? And we may yet have some young guys that end up being the greatest (not sure whether just skill or perhaps winning-est). Carter? Hurts? Most beloved? Dawk, BG, Kelce, Bednarik. And on and on and hopefully on some more. There is no wrong answer there. Good times. Good times. 🏆🏆🏆

March 3Mar 3 It gets to a point where it becomes extremely difficult to pinpoint one player as THE greatest to ever play for a franchise and is more about being in a select group of players that represent the greatest (kind of like the Mount Rushmore of Eagles players). BG would certainly be in the conversation to be part of that group.
March 3Mar 3 When I think of players who are the "greatest EAGLE ever", these are the main things I consider... Play on the field Accomplishments Length of career with the team Connection with the fan base For me, it still comes down to Jason Kelce and Brian Dawkins...with Kelce having the edge. But these 2 are definitely #1 and #2. BG has been a great Eagle, but he's not close to the Kelce/Dawk level for me. If Reggie's time with the Eagles would have been with the current regime, he'd likely be #1.
