March 9Mar 9 Hurts is 4th or 5th in the NFL. It’s debatable between him and Burrow. Mahomes, Jackson and Allen are the top 3.

See I just have to put Hurts ahead of Jackson because Hurts is a winner and Jackson tends to choke in the big spots. There’s no way that I’d take him over Hurts and for that reason I have to put Hurts ahead of him.
March 10Mar 10 Hurts is not technically perfect, nor does he have the best delivery. But what he has, and I have been saying it from the moment he was drafted,...Hurts is a winner. He has 2 barrels of IT. IT stands for cool under pressure, and the ability to command in the huddle. That is all that we ever needed as far as the QB is concerned. Vic and a defense are more responsible for winning the Super Bowl for us than Hurts. But that is why they call it a team effort...Everyone shares in the glory.
March 12Mar 12 Top 5 in no particular order. Winningest NFL QB (tied with Mahomes, I believe) since he’s been a starter. Two NFC Championships - Two Super Bowl Appearances and a Super Bowl Champion/Super Bowl MVP all in his first 5 seasons. Anyone saying he’s "not top 5” doesn’t understand the value of - not just winning - winning championships - and shouldn’t be taken seriously, imo

March 25Mar 25 All this talk about who's the best QB is really dependent on a multitude of factors. All the stats can be interpreted a number of ways especially what kind of defenses he played against, what type of offense the guy is in, what kind of supporting cast he plays with, his turnovers, his 4th quarter and red zone efficiency, his leadership abilities, and his performance under pressure like late in the season and the playoffs, and how many super bowls he's been to I don't know of any matrix that takes into account all of these factors and creates a "rating". I don't really care about who's the top QB in the league. What I do know and care about is how a QB fits into the teams offense, the leadership skill and the trust the other offensive players have in him. How he responds to adversity and success. Jalen Hurts would probably rank in the top 10 in the league with that matrix. BUT for the type of offense the eagles run, and with his leadership and demeanor, he may be the best for the Philadelphia Eagles under Sirianni. Hurts won't ever lead the league in passing yards and TD's....he may never win a regular season MVP......but he wants to win and he seems to have a focused mindset for a repeat. So you can have your passing leaders for the regular season. Hurts WILL return to the Super Bowl.....and hopefully win again.
March 26Mar 26 @birdman#12 You make some good points about how hard it is to quantify QB play. ANY/A is a stat that tries to take most of passer rating and add in sacks. It still does not count running. QBR is not real. Charlie Batch is QBR Joe Montana. PFF ratings are also fake and subjective. For a lineman you can sat he did not get beat +2 / He got beat -2. You can't really do that for skill players. Allen, Jackson, and Hurts are the 3 best QBs IMO based on their overall game. I get that Jackson has struggled in the playoffs but he's had 3 MVP seasons (2 the last 2 years) (Voters can vote feelings, but Lamar was far better than Allen) Allen did not even outplay him in the playoffs, Andrews dropped a couple of balls. Mahomes and Burrow do not scare the hell out of the defense in the run game, making the run game better. That's another huge factor in the advantage of my top 3. Mahomes might be the 3rd best QB of all time, but he's about 10th best the last 2 years. There is really no point in pretending its 2022. I use the Marino analogy. Dan was the best for about 4 or 5 years, then he was in that 7th to 12th mix the rest of his career. You could pretend it was still 1984 in 1989 but it did not make him elite. Burrow can jump up into the top 3 with a great year. Mahomes can jump back in too. Daniels could start knocking on the door if he does not have a CJ Stroud type year 2.
