GO BIRDS!!

Opening this a bit early as I’m at my Friday night job and wanted to open this so I didn’t forget later.

I think I read not all starters?

Wonder if our qbs will be able to complete at pass this week! Both didn’t look great last week and Dtr really struggled.

Backup Oline messed up there

That seemed like a' F it he's down there somewhere' throw

51yds FG? I remember when he'd get those centered with ease sad

Listening to WIP broadcast on the internet. Can't believe how many commercials there are

This pass brought to you by gas x because when you need a big pass of the gas you need gas X

The constant bombardment of ads is insane everywhere

It seems like every year there's some fringe RB that everybody falls in love with and they almost always clear waivers.

Still don't get what the point of preseason even is now if none of the starters play at all anymore even in a limited capacity. Seems like if it's just for evaluating the backups you could basically do it whenever outside of the regular season and it needn't actually be before the season ("pre" name not withstanding). Although this is probably just sour grapes talking because I want real football and not glorified practice squad games.

You don't want to see prospective starters down the road or backups in a real game situation? Okay then.

I would hardly consider pre-season to be real game situation since I don't think many teams still take it all that seriously anymore (part of the reason why you don't see many starters playing even a single snap anymore) and it's kinda difficult to get an accurate judge on these prospective starters when it's just backups vs backups (sometimes not even second string vs second string). Like I said they're basically glorified practices (or could also be seen as an extension of college games since its basically just the backups vs backups now), but it is what it is.

The Ward guy on the Titans played. He is a starter.

Hence why my statement said "you don't see many" not "you don't see any", but it's very few these days. There's no incentive for teams to try to win these games, so teams have started to treat them that way. I have a hard time getting psyched up for these, no matter how starved for football I am, when you have team A being like: "whatever." and team B being like: "yeah, whatever."

No coach ever got fired for losing a preseason game so yeah, "whatever". Players on the bubble of making a roster might be a little less "whatever".
