Saturday at 03:59 PM1 day @UK_EaglesFan89 Joe Montana 1985-1987 in the playoffs.46-88 for 503 with 0 TDs and 4 picks at a 50.5 rating. He led his team to 3, 3, and 3 points on offense in those 3 games (he was benched for Young in the last one)The calls for Steve Young to be the starter were endless. Here are his next 6 playoff games:121-173 for 1623 yards 19 TDs and 1 pick for a 133.7 rating.2 more rings for a total of 4Idiots would have replaced 32 year old Montana for career 8-6 in the playoffs on the 49ers dynasty, Steve Young.Playing QB is hard but we have to be rational humans to understand this.

No. Does he have some clear faults and limitations? Yes. Is that true of all QBs (in fact players)? Yes. Does he have the natural talent and arm that someone like Allen has? No. But he turns it over a lot less and gives the team opportunities to get the win.The passing offense has been the same this year as it was last. Do I think Patullo has done a good job? Absolutely not. Do I think he’s calling a very simplistic offense? I do yeah. I think the route tree shows that. But the biggest difference is the run game. The biggest difference is the OL is not even good and probably not even average (for various reasons). That and the drive killing penalties are holding this offense back from being good to average. Sort those things and this team is going to win games more comfortably whilst that defense is playing at an elite level.Allen throws more. The chance of a pick goes up the more a player actually throws the ballThough Allen also has a higher completion percentage which is usually not the case when one player has a larger sample sizeHurts runs more but Allen has better stats than that too
Saturday at 05:21 PM1 day @NOTW , me, and others like to point out Josh Allen flaws play by play not because we think Allen is a bad QB. He's going to be a first ballot HoF player. Its to point out the absurdity of the crucify the QB for every non-perfection attitude of the haters.Playing QB in the NFL is very difficult.Jim Kelly got to 4 SBs. He lost them all.The one 'close' SB was where he ineptly only led his team to a 47 yard FG try on grass (about a 62 yard try by 2025 standards)He had 20 TDs and 28 picks in the playoffs. How do you think playing for Philly in the 2020s would have worked out for someone like him?Mahomes is going to be first ballot and will likely be regarded top 5 all-time.Hurts wipes the floor with him 2024-25.https://www.sports-reference.com/stathead/football/versus-finder.cgi?request=1&seasons_type=perchoice&player_id1=MahoPa00&p1yrfrom=2024&p1yrto=2025&player_id2=HurtJa00&p2yrfrom=2024&p2yrto=2025He's on the same level if not a bit better 2022-25.https://www.sports-reference.com/stathead/football/versus-finder.cgi?request=1&seasons_type=perchoice&player_id1=MahoPa00&p1yrfrom=2022&p1yrto=2025&player_id2=HurtJa00&p2yrfrom=2022&p2yrto=2025

Sort those things and this team is going to win games more comfortably whilst that defense is playing at an elite level. There's a reason for it. Most of Hurts career on the Eagles has been surrounded by talent. More than McNabb ever had. Production simply doesn't match the investment on offense either. I also remember Hurts having more time in clean pockets over the couple previous seasons yet he still would hold on to the ball or not make the proper read. Yes. he's been great at not turning the ball over the last couple of seasons. But that's the least he can do has a game manager QB. He's not taking risks and generally only throws in wide open windows. But this pretty much highlights the lack of offensive production.
Saturday at 09:41 PM1 day Man for all this talk that Jalen just inherited such an elite power house team they must’ve been killing it before he was inserted as the starter. What was their record the previous season? Oh 4-11-1. Well obviously this powerhouse team with Nick Sirianni can obviously win with any quarterback so what is his record without Hurts starting or not finishing a game due to injury? 3-5. 🤔
Yesterday at 03:22 AM1 day Jalen had a couple crappy games the past couple of weeks, true. But the games were played in cold, windy, conditions against top defenses. None of the QBs in those games, Love, Hurts, Goff, played well. Love and Goff played historically bad. Hurts played better than they did. It's very clear from the Eagles play and stats last year about how much emphasis the team places on winning the turnover battle. And to date, the results seem to bear out a successful strategy of being very aggressive on defense and getting turnovers, while on offense, playing it safe so long as the team holds onto the ball. If that's the case, sure seems like Hurts is holding up his end of the bargain right now. When there are more temperate playing conditions, look for Jalen's play to step up - especially if the team has to come from behind.
