Eagles hire Packers QBs coach Sean Mannion as new offensive coordinator and Josh Grizzard as Passing Game Coordinator

Steichen did have previous OC experience (albeit only 2 years) with the Chargers. But he was also a QB coach for a few years as well. Mannion only has 1 year of coaching experience (QB coach) ... I think he needed more time to cut his teeth at this level before being hired as an OC. We've done best when we hired an OC who was not being retained after the HC was fired (Steichen, Moore) ... hopefully our next hire is from the same path (unless we clean house all together and then the hope is we hire a good offensive mind as HC).

Everyone says Steichen and Moore are good offensive minds and they're both failing as HC's

Which, to me, means not everyone should be a NFL HC. A lot of Coordinators should just be that…….a Coordinator. Success as a Coordinator doesn’t translate into success as a HC. We see it all the time.

I get the ambition to be a HC but I do agree there’s absolutely no shame in being a really top coordinator.
