October 8Oct 8 ^^^He'll be the Passing Game Coordinator for the University of Toledo. LOLI just have to wonder what these O Coaches could do if they had a full, healthy, competent roster.

October 10Oct 10 as Frank Sinatra sang.... "And regrets, I've had a few...." This is one of them.🤣Eagles LOVE hiring them some OC's who HAVE NEVER CALLED ONE NFL PLAY.
October 10Oct 10 We need a full year of the new O. And a brand new TE room. And more than 2 competent WRs. And to stay healthy. And a cohesive OLine.I think that about covers it. 🏈🦅🤓
October 11Oct 11 Another year and another new play caller. Somehow the results are worse. Still can’t run, and the passing game seems more broken than before. Time to retool and get a head coach in here capable of calling plays. How many times do we need a play caller who comes in and has to figure out who does what best?
October 12Oct 12 Any chance they give Grizzard a shot calling plays? He doesn’t have the best track record but at least he has some experience.

Mannion is not only new to calling plays but new to coaching in general. He may be a bright mind but he simply doesn't have the knowledge that comes with experience to come up with a game plan for a broken down roster on offense or adjust as needed. And the unfortunate thing is, he certainly isn't going to get any help from Sirianni who is NOT a bright offensive mind. Trying to be optimistic that things will turn around as the offense gets acclimated to the new scheme and play calling has obviously been a huge challenge due to the injuries throwing a major hurdle for them to try to overcome (they already had one in trying to implement the new offense).
October 12Oct 12 Could have sworn that Grizzard was hired to "help” Mannion, as Mannion is such a newbie. I’m not seeing too much "help”. At least not yet. Mannion, Grizzard, Siri, and Hurts, all need to get on the same Offensive page. Soon.
October 14Oct 14 At some point you have to question if the FO is meddling too much. I mean, Mannion is their guy, not Nick's. We keep saying Nick has inserted his own stuff into Mannion's offense, but how would that even be? The FO didn't even let him pick his own OC, yet they'll allow him to override what Mannion wants to do? What if this is just the kind of offense the FO wants to see out there? Anyway, I'm tired of all the turnover. It would be just another wasted year with all of the talent on this roster if you switch OC's again. There needs to be stability.
October 14Oct 14 Anyone wants to start a thread on "How many days before Mannion gets fired?" ???We are dead last in the league, by a lot, in the second half yards.Growing pains with OC is crossing into Dysfunctional at adjustments. Better coordinators have been fired for less. Eagles are stubborn...but they are not blind.

After Wentz got hurt, Foles came in and really struggled to end the regular season. They went back and took plays from Chip’s offense that Foles ran successfully and incorporated them into the offense. Bam, Foles looked like a different player. That’s what this staff should be doing. Going back to prior years and seeing what was successful for Hurts. Instead, they’re trying to fit a square peg in a round hole.
October 17Oct 17 Author It's interesting. We're seeing more of a mix than an obvious Mannion system. Is that because of Nick or Hurts?

Some teams ahead of us have even had their bye week already. And in case you haven't noticed, we lead the NFL in 3 and outs and have a worse 3rd down conversion rate than any Chip Kelly offense. so ... yeah ... absolutely.

Sometimes you have to let a guy have a second year to see if they kick on with a years experience.

Kelly's entire stint with the Eagles carried an average TOP of 26:18 and this year we are averaging 27:24.So to break this down, the Eagles average point per minute of possession:2013: 1.052014: 1.112015: 0.902025: 0.742026: 0.64Yesterday, the Eagles had the ball 25:12 and averaged 0.56 points per minute of possession. Regardless of all this, my original point went over your head. I said, "Sadly, I kind of miss the Chip Kelly offense right now." I'm not calling for Chip Kelly --- just pointing out how pitiful our offense is right now.

Other than AR rookies do not do well as OC due to the learning curve.

But he was also a QB coach for a few years as well. Mannion only has 1 year of coaching experience (QB coach) ... I think he needed more time to cut his teeth at this level before being hired as an OC. We've done best when we hired an OC who was not being retained after the HC was fired (Steichen, Moore) ... hopefully our next hire is from the same path (unless we clean house all together and then the hope is we hire a good offensive mind as HC).
