April 30Apr 30 Epps needs to be one of the starting S's. He actually needs to be S1.If Mukuba is healthy, he is S2. The rest are hott garbage.

While initially describing Mukuba’s season as "uneven", Fangio credited his development with helping the Eagles' defensive improvement, although he previously noted the need for more strength.XX+4Key details regarding Fangio's assessment of Mukuba:Progressive Trust: After an uneven start, Fangio recognized Mukuba’s improved consistency in November 2025, noting a reduction in the "bad plays" that occurred early in the season.Transition from Rookie: By game 11, Fangio stated that due to playing time and experience, Mukuba was no longer playing like a typical rookie."Rookie Tax": Fangio referenced the need to "pay taxes" (experience growing pains) when playing rookies, acknowledging he had to live with some shaky play earlier in the season.Physicality and Role: While recognized as a "hitter," early assessments pointed to a need for more strength and consistency in his tackling, with hope that he could become a major, reliable piece of the secondary.I'll take what Fangio says of Mukuba over the eye test of people sitting on their couch lol.Now Fangio made it seem like Epps is ahead of Mukuba on the depth chart. Maybe the guy sitting on the couch knows a little something…

Maybe the guy sitting on the couch knows a little something…He mentioned everyone in competition for the other safety spot he didn't even say Mukuba because he is the other starting safety. The other starting safety spot in nickel is up for grabs, but Epps has the inside trackWhen we go to nickel, and Coop comes up and plays nickel, it'll be (Marcus) Epps playing safety. We're taking a good look at Michael Carter back there. Andre Sam... Then, we signed an undrafted free agent, Gush (DB Kapena Gushiken). J.T. Gray has been mainly a special teams player, but he'll get a look... We'll look at all those guys. It's an open competition.”As you guys know, last year, his season... first off, his training camp was interrupted by a couple injuries that kept him out for two different lumps of time," Fangio said of Mukuba. "Started off the season up and down, had some shaky plays. But I felt like the last five or six games prior to him getting hurt, he was coming on and hopefully he'll be able to pick up from there. He's had a rehab-dominated offseason, but he's been out there with us these last couple of weeks. He's not 100% yet, but he will be soon."

So he isn't going to play at all?

The other Safety position is up for grabs between Epps and Mukuba and it sounds like Epps has the advantage now.

It doesn’t sound like Fangio is as high on Mukuba. He would get steamrolled against the run.
June 2Jun 2 When I heard that Garrett went to the Rams for Verse, it told me the Eagles weren’t giving up Carter and that tells me they’re locking him up long term. Moving on from Brown and not brining in Garrett will give the Eagles options to sign their own guys.
June 2Jun 2 Author Eagles have signed RB Elijah Mitchell to fill the open roster spot vacated by the Brown trade. Bleeding Green NationEagles sign former 49ers running backThe Eagles have signed RB Elijah Mitchell, who is familiar with the Shanahan offense, but has struggled to stay healthy. He was drafted by SF and spent a couple years there so he has familiarity with the "Shannon offense" which it seems we are trying to install.
