September 2Sep 2 I still don't get the point, it doesn't look like they're really doing anything different. And way too soon after the last movie.
September 2Sep 2 i'm more interested in the inevitable 100's of posts from uk eagle during the series run about how much he doesn't know nor care about harry potter in the slightest, while also stating in great detail what he's heard or read from other fans.

However, it doesn't look like they're doing that and are just remaking the movies with new actors. Looks like just a cash grab.

But this just seems like a remake and perhaps has some extra book details but the movies were very well liked so I don't get it.
September 2Sep 2 There was a lot more Quiddich in the books, so not sure if they are going to do that or not. Also some of the minor characters in the books got more of a chance to shine, so maybe they will fleshed out more as well. I thought a prequel series about when James, Lily, Serious Black (by far my favorite character), Snape, etc. were at Hogwarts would have been a way more interesting series.

Except of course for the questionable castingsI know some people that have read the books but I haven't asked yet what they thought of the trailer. Granted it's a teaser trailer

Whether it be pro/anti JK Rowling fans, those that hate the casting, the actors trying to tip toe around JKs acronym views - I'm pulling up a chair. It's going to be brilliant. You can't begrudge a man some entertainment can you?

Many reasons for that, but overall, it will be a massive success over many years, despite my lack of interest. And as its filmed over here, a lot of jobs will be created off the back of it.

Apparently in the books Ron is actually smart and tough, not a whiny boy who seems dumb. And Hermoine wasn't so snobby and teacher's pet, she was more likable. I just haven't seen or read anything that shows it's sooooooo much different that it demanded a remake, and so soon.

Luna was another of the favorite characters. Umbridge was even more horrible in the book than she was in the movie. Actually one of the most despicable villains of all time. But yeah only hardcore Potterheads would be interested in those details omitted from the films.

September 3Sep 3 It looks like it would be good, doesn't look bad or anything. Just weird to remake so soon.

I've been having teh sex for almost a quarter century. If I had a kid at the same age my mom had me, that kid would be old enough to have gotten their MASTERS degree, and still would have been born after I saw the first film in theaters.I think we need to recalibrate your definition of "so soon".

And people stopped using "teh" years ago it's cringe. There are HP fans younger than you who grew up with the books and movies that think it's too soon to reboot. The last movie was released in 2011. The Lord of the Rings original 3 movies ended in 2003 with Return of the King. If they announced a TV series to redo that story with all new cast that would also be too soon (or should just never be done). Those movies are great and don't need to be redone. Twilight movies were around that time (the 2 final movies were 2011 and 2012). It would be weird to reboot that again, too soon. The first Hunger Games series ended in 2015. If they put a TV show out rebooting that from scratch 3 years from now that would also feel too soon and unnecessary. If people argue comic book movies have more frequent reboots, the source material already had multiple iterations and version of the characters. So Spider-Man, Batman, etc. having multiple takes aligns with the comics (and not all of them have been received well either). Other franchises like Hunger Games, Game of Thrones and LOTR/Hobbit have done spinoffs, prequels to keep the product going rather than reboot. The It makes more sense to reboot something "for the new generation" when the franchise is older. Back to the Future for example would make more sense. It wouldn't make sense to make a TV show of Twilight. We just had those movies. Young kids can watch the original Harry Potter movies and enjoy them with their parents, that's part of families sharing things they like.
September 4Sep 4 Robert Zemekis is apparently blocking all Back to the Future modem day adaptions/sequels - lots of interest in it from studios, but he is a firm no. Can't say I blame him after seeing Hollywood adaptions in the last 15 years. Marty would be played Zendaya and the time travel would be some social justice nonsense, given half the chance,
September 4Sep 4 this guy expects to be taken seriously after suggesting that Back to the Future would be an acceptable reboot
