April 13Apr 13 Getting a receiver who has problems catching the ball is an issue considering the WR coach is only here because he's been carried by Brown and Smith. We had a revolving door at WR coach and they wanted it to stop. Who has he developed?

I don't think it precludes them from taking a WR in the draft, but I do think it definitely has to do with Brown's future. At this point, I'd be shocked if it didn't happen. Only way it doesn't happen is if the compensation price drops and Howie says nah, nevermind. But to me, this is definite planning to be without him.I too think it will happen ... I just don't see how anyone can say with 100% certainty that is the case (as I stated in my last post). I still think anything is possible.
April 13Apr 13 I can't believe people are still in denial that Brown is 100% gone. They didn't guarantee Hollywood Brown 5 million, trade a 5th and 6th for Wicks and give him an extension which is probably worth more guaranteed than they gave Brown to have them fighting for scraps in terms of targets after Brown, Smitty, and Goedert get most of them. Not to mention they signed Moore who might be a long shot to make the team but is someone to keep an eye on, and also have Cooper and Wilson. Oh, and I'd be willing to bet just about anything that they will draft a WR no later than the 4th round in a couple of weeks, if not on day two.
April 13Apr 13 Depending g on which version of Hollywood Brown shows up, it is entirely possible Wicks is the second best receiver on the roster come week 1. He’s insurance if anything

If he wanted to stay in Philly, these reports would have ended with 1 tweet way back in February. Or Howie could shut them down just as easily if he wasn’t entertaining callsThey persist and are getting louder because there’s something to it

The Wicks move suggests an AJ trade is probably coming, but I understand the confusion. If AJ stays the WR room would appear too crowded, particularly if they take a rookie in a deep class. If AJ goes, we don’t have anyone who is a comfortable WR2 and presumably we wouldn’t want to rely on a rookie. I guess Mannion would look at different packages and to spread it out more, but would we be far from ideal for a team looking to compete for a Super Bowl.
April 14Apr 14 Wicks is a good receiver who got caught up in a numbers game with Green Bay having a pretty good receivers group. He could very well be the #3 or possibly the #2 receiver depending on what the eagles do with AJ Brown and the draft. He's not an AJ Brown replacement, but he brings good talent into the WR group. As far as the draft picks Howie gave up, not a big deal.....if they consider Wicks has much more potential.....not to mention, Howie has an uncanny ability to acquire more picks during the draft and any subsequent trades.I think it's a underrated addition.....
April 14Apr 14 I understand what Howie is doing, but like I posted earlier, you can't have all these WRs on the roster. We have 3 new ones?? I'd bet that 1 or 2 is not making the team. But what do I know. NOTHING. 🙃

I get it partially since people love to do draft simulator and get carried away this time of the year that every pick is going to be a good NFL player but the fact is the chances of those picks becoming even decent NFL players isn't high, they are far more likely to be the next John Hightower or Trevor KeegamB. AJ Brown has been gone, this just further cements that. Obviously not that Wicks replaces him, but it's becoming a numbers game.C. GB consistently used 4 WR's and spread the ball around. Sean Mannion comes from GB. You can't replace an AJ Brown one for one. They will use multiple WR's in 2026.D. Piggy backing on that, they will take a money ball approach to replacing AJ Brown and do so in the aggregate. Smitty becomes the number 1 and will get plenty of targets and I would imagine will be used much more creatively with motion, lining up all over the place, etc. Hollywood Brown is best used in the slot and can have an impact with limited targets/touches per game. Moore is also best used in the slot so if Hollywood gets hurt or simply doesn't work out you have him as plan B for that. Wicks can play the X and be a chain mover, dirty work guy, blocker, knows the offense, etc. In addition to that floor he has also flashed at times during his time in GB and is only 25 so there is some upside. I would expect them to still draft a WR on day 1 or day 2 and it will probably be an X type like Boston, Bell, Fields, Hurst, etc. If that rookie is ready to step right in and have a big role, great. If it takes them some time you can work them in here and there along with Wicks. Wicks is versatile as well so if a rookie comes in and earns a big role right away you can use Wicks some at X, some in the slot, etc. The point is they will have Smitty as the number 1 and then use 3 guys to varying degrees in the 2-4 roles.E. Like I said, Moore could be a plan B to Hollywood Brown as a pure slot guy. Darius Cooper can always earn a spot or even role depending on a few factors. Johnny Wilson will always have a legit chance to make the team because of his ability on special teams and as a blocker. Covey same because of his PR ability. Barring injury these guys will battle it out for the 5th and possibly 6th WR spots and they can also stash a guy or two on the PS perhaps.Specifically with Wicks now and tie this all together. Mannion obviously thinks highly of him or this move doesn't happen. His former WR coach is now on the coaching staff as well. He brings a high floor due to route running, blocking, and being familiar with the offense/coaching staff, but at 25 and having shown flashes during his first three seasons also has some upside. That 12.5 million is up to and probably HEAVILY incentive based and even IF it isn't he is essentially on a two year, 15 million dollar deal. As far as 2027 and beyond you will have Smitty, Wicks, and likely a significant 2026 draft pick heading into year two and they can patch work the depth at the position together with some combination of Hollywood, Moore, Cooper, Wilson, or the next Hollywood/Moore on a cheap one year deal in free agency. You weren't replacing AJ one to one and the offense is/was changing already so all of this makes PERFECT sense. No need to overcomplicate this broke.Hey nice novel Charles Dickens

Could be they know he is going to have to break out of his comfort zone and become proficient at some areas he hasn’t shown to be so in the past. And they did a pretty good job of giving him every chance to do so with the group of WRs they added (and hopefully an OC that can scheme properly). Now it’s on him to show he can fit otherwise it could be bye bye.

That's why Brown does not want to be here. That and the end of guaranteed money.

April 25Apr 25 He has the value of knowing and operating in the new offensive scheme they will deploy. He may be a STer, he may carve a role out for himself.
