October 11, 20204 yr Author Zack Ertz should want out just for the simple fact that Whiteside had more receiving yards

October 11, 20204 yr Anyone notice the great block by JJAW on the big run by Sanders? I mean it was a hold and he’s lucky they didn’t call it but still.
October 11, 20204 yr It is well known that the Eagles wanted an Alshon replacement when they drafted JJAW. Size and jump-ball ability being the key attributes. I have posted here before that JJAW lack of athletic agility and explosion i.e change of direction, making cuts etc is the key reason he doesn’t seperate well at the NFL level. It stood out in his athletic testing as well. From a measurables perspective Fulgham offers very similar athletic profile to JJAW with one key difference. His agility tested as good vs JJAW being very poor. The Eagles may have just stumbled themselves into finding someone who gives them exactly what they are after at that spot. Sure would be a nice make-up for the draft miss of JJAW.

Yeah, in fairness, they were at least 5 seconds away from getting the play off and his celebration was less than two. Not smart, but not the reason we didn't get points there. And, I don't think most WRs are going to purposely not catch that because of the clock. When you are that far downfield, your instincts are going to be to catch it.

When you are that far downfield, your instincts are going to be to catch it. Because of the time left on the clock, there was no way to clock the ball in time (as you point out). JJAW's lack of experience there is something he'd better learn from. Not really having NFL experience in that situation, he's probably in that college mindset that 1st down means the clock stops or maybe he thought we had a timeout. IDK, but he needs to learn from this so he doesn't hurt the team if there's a next time when we can stop the clock.

October 12, 20204 yr People are going overboard on the JJAW celebration. Yes he should have better situational awareness to not do that but made absolutely no difference today. As others have said, there wasn’t enough time. There is plenty of real things to bash him about that we don’t need to reach for something so silly. In related news, Metcalf is such a beast - love watching him play.

Metkalf. and Reagor or Justin Jefferson... with ertz/goeddert n sanders. wouldn't be such a bad offense... with a healthy oline ofcourse...

October 12, 20204 yr Like I said, metcalf is a straight up baller. We should let it go but it just hurts because he is the guy I wanted in the 1st round, let alone when he slipped to the 2nd

I also remember thinking who the f is Jj arcega whiteside.......

Yep, Metcalf and Raegor and this offense is completely different to what it is currently looking like. Although I’m convinced that if they had hit on Metcalf (or had JJAW shown a thing close to being a competent player last year), they don’t go WR in the first this year. I mean this team has plenty of holes that could have used some help.
October 12, 20204 yr I think this board needs a Metcalf thread similar to the Vernon Davis thread in the old boards 🙂
