October 12, 20204 yr Did he play today? Didn’t notice. I did see Metcalf win another game for the Seahawks though. What makes this bust even worse is that Philly has basically had nothing at the WR position for two seasons now and this bum still can’t do anything. It’s not like he needs to beat out all pro’s for opportunities.
October 12, 20204 yr The QB decides whether you get the ball. Wentz fed his buddy Ertz early on, Donny froze out Fredex. Wentz has little confidence in JJAW, clearly, maybe for good reason. I say start feeding him the ball, we aren’t winning a ring this year, so lets find out.

He’s just looking to get some likes by piling onto the JJAW hate. JJ is awful, but he did nothing wrong on that play and it was actually a nice catch. I just posted the first tweet i saw in the search. I think the overreaction to the "celebration" highlights how incredibly frustrated and disappointed fans are with him. That even on a good catch, he gets criticized.

Good catch I want to see more of that. But lol there was no celebration and there was literally no way they would spike the ball. The person that tweeted that looked like a straight bozo. I am not a fan of Whiteside but I will call it how I see it

I checked Twitter for the clip and several tweets were similar complaining. So it was a bunch of people at least.
October 12, 20204 yr He showed up and made a play so he deserves credit for that. It's a step in the right direction even if it's only a small one. That said for it to happen on a night where Fulgham goes off for over 150 and a TD, that hurts JJAW.
October 12, 20204 yr Author Official snap counts for Week 5 updated in initial post. Pretty good trend for his snapcount %...
October 12, 20204 yr So it isn’t just Carson’s comfort that is holding him back. Seems the Eagles aren’t too comfortable with him either. Could be due to him returning from injury though. We shall see. John Hightower: 48 snaps (81%) Travis Fulgham: 46 (78%) Greg Ward: 41 (69%) Arcega-Whiteside: 8 (14%) Quez Watkins: 5 (8%)

Failed to a haul in a bomb that hit him right in the hands in the endzone reminiscent of JJ last year.

I don’t think you see him as much if it weren’t for so many injuries.
October 12, 20204 yr Can't get over why we picked JJAW when DK Metcalf was still on the board in 2019 draft. Sizes are comparable with an edge of athleticism to DK. The performances in NFL are a public report for all to see. Someone in the personnel dept and/or Howie must be looking at factors that we aren't aware of.

Most people are already aware of the questions teams had about him. His last college football season ended early with a neck injury. Before that he had a broken foot. There were questions about his extremely low body fat and whether that is really healthy or not or if the measurement was messed up. He tested very well in the combine physically in most things, but not so great in change of direction tests, which brought on questions of whether or not he'd be able to run all types of pass routes or just have a very limited set. Looking more like a pro body builder than a WR also naturally led to questions about how he got that way. So he slipped way lower than his talent warranted because teams were just afraid of more than one thing.
October 13, 20204 yr Freddie Mitchell after 1 season: 21 rec. 283 yds, 1 TD I am done comparing JJAW to receivers in his draft class. That’s an insult to receivers in his draft class. I think it’s time to compare him to all time horrible WR draft picks.

The dropped TD being right up there. You also have Wentz overthrowing him when he got free deep. But Hightower is also a 4th round rookie vs a 2nd round pick who played a lot of snaps last year. They shouldn’t be comparable - shots wide should be waaaay better by now

Hightower as a rookie has flashed. He's certainly looking better than JJAW and I think we need to evaluate him over a good length of time to determine his future on this team.

Coming off the injury, he only played 8 snaps Sunday. Of course, Fulgham seems to have stepped into that role nicely and shouldn't lose any snaps to JJAW. JJ did get worked at all the roles last year, so he should be able to come in for anybody as needed.

It’s been quite clear to most that he's not cut out for the NFL level.

That's a false conclusion based on limited targets. He's a 2nd year player trying to get better. He may have better players in front of him now (thanks to Fulgham) when Jeffery returns. So there will be a challenge getting him snaps. He'll have to make the most of them. His lack of production to this point, does not define his future.

Fulgham comes in off the street practically and has done more in 2 games than JJAW has in a year and a quarter.

Fulgham comes in off the street practically and has done more in 2 games than JJAW has in a year and a quarter. He produced some clutch catches in the 4 game winning streak that got us into the playoffs last year. That's not "nothing." When Wentz targets JJAW more than 2 times in a game, we might get a better idea of the contribution JJAW can make. For that to happen, things on the offense need to improve, starting with the blocking and then the QB play. I am in no way, shape, or form suggesting we play JJAW over Fulgham. I am merely stating my opinion that you don't give up on a WR after a little over 1 season just because he is rarely targeted. Now, if he's dropping everything or showing little effort on the field, that's totally different.
October 13, 20204 yr So many excuses. The guy sucks. Wentz ain't throwing to him because he's a bum. Wentz manages to throw to guys plucked from the practice squad, he barely knows their name. JJAW has been in the offense 2 years, he's had chances. A guy on the roster for 2 weeks made a huge splash. Ward has made a ton of plays. Burnett came up from PS and made plays. 3rd string TE makes more plays. All 3 starting WRs hurt 2 seasons in a row and JJAW has had WIDE OPEN opportunity. We're tired of watching rookies and 2nd year players light it up while waiting for our 2nd round pick in his 2nd year to finally show something. It's ridiculous.
