Look I get Weru and Bernard may be a long way from being NFL ready. But to let them hit waivers whilst Dalton and Ringo make the 53 seems pretty criminal to me. Both are disasters whereas at least Weru and Bernard offered upside. And showed a little something during preseason whereas the 2 I mentioned offered nothing.

Yes it is laughable Howie kept Dalton, unless he has a deal today for McKee. If not Dalton could still be waived today if we claim someone, hopefully an outside CB

I have a feeling all 4 are on the 53 for only a day or two. One will be released after the initial players released have gone through waivers and other teams have made their claims to add to their roster. Once that initial period is over one will be cut, thinking Howie really wanted to get one to the practice squad (and was afraid if part of the initial cuts would be claimed). He seems to play Russian Roulette every year at this time with players he wants to keep trying to sneak they through waivers ... there has been quite a few times those players did get claimed. It's a roll of the dice.

I do hope Bernard and Weru go unclaimed and are brought back to the practice squad. I think both are worth developing (and obviously both need quite a bit of development so the practice squad is the perfect place for them - it would kinda suck to have them suck up roster spots when they really would not be able to contribute much this year and would also suck to have to stash them on IR where they wouldn't be able to practice ... how does that help their development?).

Watch the Rams claim Weru or Bernard just to stick it to us for claiming Lampkin last year.

Definitely seems ridiculous to keep 4 QBs. Both Dalton and McKee don't really have any trade value based on their play in the preseason. I do wonder how either of them would perform with the starters, though. Neither is good enough to elevate the backups.

For those of you who were concerned, Weru and Bernard bother cleared waivers.

To be honest if we traded McKee and Hurts went down I’d rather see the rookie than Dalton. Hell I’d be tempted to go wild cat on every down rather than Dalton.
