Could the Eagles win the NFC East with a losing record?

We need to go for worse record and get good draft choices, we need an offensive line and a QB.

That’s my thing… is it 2028 where we have 2 firsts and 2 seconds? So imagine then also being able to add a top 10 talent in this next draft.

First, it depends on how they are playing at that point. Second, it keeps the cowboys, giants, and commanders from being the NFCE champs another year --- nothing wrong with that. Third, it means those 3 other teams have even worse issues.

I really don't care if someone else wins the division...whomever wins it this year will be one and done. Don't care about them having "worse issues" either...I care about improving this team and the best way to do that is to have better draft positioning.

I always look at the Steelers as a lesson in constant mediocrity. They always compete for the playoffs, end up with a winning record, lose in round 1 or just miss the playoffs, their draft slot is perpetually around 20 or so...of course they may not draft as well but when you're always picking in that area year after year, it's hard to get that franchise difference maker.

There's no way of knowing what teams will be playing good football at the end of the season. One and done is no guarantee for any playoff team. The only guarantee is that the teams that don't get in, won't have a chance. The rams were 14 point favorites against the patriots in SB36. The Patriots were 13+ point favorites in SB42. With all the injuries we had in 2017, we were underdogs every week in the postseason. A lot of things fell our way that year. In 2008, we backed into the playoffs and ended up in the NFCCG (this game ended on an obvious but uncalled DPI on 4th down).

As for the Steelers, I'd call TJ Watt a difference maker and he was pick #30. The Patriots had a pretty long run with "late" picks. It may be more interesting to study the teams that tend to have early picks every year and never do much. The draft is one avenue to build a team. Free agency is equally important and being a legit contender often attracts more "winners."

I respect the optimism...I just don't share that same optimism for this team this year. We just don't have the horses for the race. We also don't have the offensive coaching either.

I don't think we have to "rebuild" through the draft (or FA), more like "retool". But this year? Competing for a SB? LOL, not happening my friend.

Possibly, but the NFC is pretty open this season, so hopefully the team gets hot later going into the playoffs. Nothing wrong with winning a SB being the hot 4 seed that nobody wants to face.

Who cares if they win the division, when they are guaranteed to loose in the first round of playoffs?

I am more interested that they identify who is on board going forward. It is not a question if this team needs rebuilding, when you are last in some offensive stats.

Someone is going to win the NFC East with a losing record.
