Yeah lemon was a bright spot. That kind of game is what I expected from him. He watch catching balls in triple coverage too. So imagine if they do that same thing with a healthy Smitty and Wicks!

For the same dumb reason the Eagles give up 200 rushing yards to a team that can’t crack 75 any other game. Or the same reason a QB throws for 350 when he’s averaging 198 every other game. And the same reason a guy who hasn’t scored in 37 games gets 3 TDs on us. It’s the universe kicking us in the nuts because we can never have nice things. Oh and actually it’s the crap coaching and game plan 😂

Aside from Mitchell, there's nobody on the defense I wouldn't trade at this point. Might want to sell on DeJean before his value drops even more (I never thought I'd say that, but he's becoming the next Michael Lewis --- peaked early and then regressed steadily). There are a lot of good players that have value, but have zero leadership qualities. Might as well shed some contracts or potential contracts.

Re DeJean I wonder if asking him to play two positions (nickel back and safety) he ends up being not real good at either.

Keep in mind I was posting the day of our 5th straight loss. So it's very possible I was overreacting. I actually think the big difference between this year and the last two years is that we no longer have Dean and Blankenship. They were our two biggest leaders and responsible for the communication (Dean wore the green dot and Blank communicated to the secondary). Now people are snapping the ball while our guys are still standing.

DeJean is having a bad year so far, but we know he's talented enough to play better. Maybe he just needs a wakeup call. I don't really want to trade him, because I expect him to be a really good player for most of his career. But I sure am not giving him an extension if he keeps playing this poor. IDK what we need to do to motivate this defense. Normally defenses are motivated to play harder when their offenses are struggling --- especially due to injuries. Even in 2023, when the defense was faltering , and there was an unpopular shakeup with the DC and the "consultant," the players had closed door meetings because at least a few players knew the effort was lacking. I can't think of one player on our defense with enough clout to call such a meeting. It's a team full of followers without a single leader.

DeJean is the classic case of fixing something that wasn't broken. He played so good at nickel they had to get cute and move him around to fill the voids left in the secondary. Now he plays like crap. Great job guys.
