Captain F
The list of FA RBs next year is crazy long. The eagles should easily be able to add someone fairly decent.

LacesOut
The Eagles RBs seem to all be 'swing backs'. They are good in space or on the perimeter. But not good enough to run it right at a Defense. Like Blount/Ajayi were. So maybe they get one of those RBs in the off season.

They get these 'lightweight' backs in here and then try to run them right at the defense. I hate seeing Boston Scott being used that way because its ridiculous. Before him there was Ryan Matthews, etc......the only time we had that run right at the defense was like you mentioned, Ajayi and Blount and oh look, we won the superbowl that year...... You would think that fraud GM would have noticed the value of having a power back on your roster.

Yeah but then who? I think a power back would be really useful on this roster but who at a reasonable price could we of had? They obviously didn't see enough in Holyfield or Warren. Well that's not entirely true that we can't afford them. They have JP so the cap space was there.

Scott should be a RB4 / change of pace back and nothing more. Clement hasn't looked good since 2017. One focus of the upcoming offseason should be to add a legitimate weapon to pair with Sanders for the foreseeable future. I would not be opposed to using a relatively high pick (a 3rd or heck even a 2nd if the right player is there) to fortify the position. Most of RB problems is related to offensive line and lack of ingenuity due to the absence of pass play. 2017 Run pass strategy required 4 crossing receiving targets, 2 short, 2 intermediate, plus a pass catching rb out of the backfield. That's 5 receivers! 5 targets for a QB!!! With that many receivers defenses had no choice to hang back and cover. Now all they, the opposing defenses, have to do is to stack the box and double Ertz. Even a best RB, will not be able to penetrate a wall of bodies. What we need is a healthy upgraded Offensive line and a few healthy receivers functioning, so that we can stretch the defense and make them respect our pass. At that point Sanders, scott, and whoever also they bring will be just fine.
Cochis_Calhoun
For a couple of hundred thousand more than we're paying Clement we could've picked up Adrian Peterson for a year.
20dawk4life
I'm not worried about RB and wouldn't put a lot of priority on the back up spot. We have sanders as the starter and with a healthy effective line we've seen plenty of RBs play well here. Invest in the oline and the backs we have will look better. PoconoDon
IMO there are 3 types of RB's any team needs on their roster. 1. Tweener of power/shiftiness/speed (HB1). 2. Bruising power back. 3. Shifty and quick 3rd down back with great hands. The Eagles need a #2 and another #1 if they want.
