I’m starting to think that Doug is oblivious to the needs of this team. The fact that he doesn’t see a need for a change at QB (not necessary saying to bench Wentz, but at least change things up for Carson) and not questioning Schwartz on his terrible defensive schemes. He should be the one making these calls but he would rather treat everyone like family. We need, no, demand results and so should he.

It's not just the play-calling, though.  The team looks genuinely unprepared and lacking focus or energy.  That goes beyond talent.  Look at how the Giants are playing, for instance.  That's why I am beginning to believe those rumors.  I really am wondering if a major problem is Doug.

I mean that's possibly fair. But I do still go back to... What can he do when his QB is this bad and this inaccurate?

Because it depends what you mean by less talented? In terms of a ceiling? Yeah I agree. But even semi decent QB play right now has us in a better position in this team and on the year.

Sorry the ceiling argument is nonsense, Hurts was a top end starter at a level higher than Wentz in College, and his ceiling is unknown at NFL level, Wentz ceiling is a vertical Star Wars trash compactor at this point whatever it may have been in the much fabled almost MVP year of <solemn mode> '17.

how much more free goodwill does the sb give doug/howie?

We can win with Wentz, we just can't win with this inept coaching staff.

Is the coaching staff overthrowing open receivers?

Woah hang on. I'm not trying to make a ceiling argument either way. I'm just trying to say it doesn't matter who has a higher ceiling. At this point semi decent QB play would be a major upgrade.

I have to admit I've been wrong before but here's how I see it: I mean half as good as Wentz overall. His greatest value IMO isn't even as a long term backup, it's as trade bait. Build him up in those circumstances that favor his performance and then trade him for a 1st rounder down the line. He showed in College that he's a choker. He will never be a top shelf franchise QB. He just won't be. That's what I mean by less talented.

The reality over the Wentz argument is he is not going to be benched. He is our 100 million dollar QB. For the foreseeable future he is your franchise QB. This argument doesn't change that.

Sounds to me like this is it for Doug and Schwartz and they both know it. Lame duck coaching.

doug blaming the penalties lol

If we could somehow merge McNabb's worm burners and Carson's high sailing throws into a QB, we would have something. It would be like "Weird Science".

2020 Covid will bail them out. And no way Lurie tosses Doug yet. Maybe Schwartz.

The schedule gets real tough after this.

And they have Lane, Sanders, Reagor, Goedert all back healthy but losing to a 2-7 team.

Can't blame injuries when they have starters back healthy but stink.

We can't do anything right

If we come out and score, we will win this game

The military hoodies look nice at least

Hope they get rid of that lame duck QB too

Can we have decent field position once?

Is he though? Is he trade bait? With the way that Wentz is playing?

Oh look another penalty.
