November 25, 20204 yr Author Went for a mile run today after taking off running since Saturday. (I’ve been using the speed rope the other days.) Felt great. Weight kinda plateaued a bit but this morning I’m on the downward trend again. Stopped drinking after election night. I downed a bottle of Whistle Pig and didn’t really feel all that drunk. Kind of a wake up call. Since I stopped drinking I replaced it with running and jump rope. And the lbs have come off quick. The last time I smoked was a few years ago with my ex gf and a chick I went to college with. Because I don’t smoke weed, but I smoked cigarettes in my youth I thought you just smoked it like a Marlboro, only you’re supposed to "hold it in for about twenty seconds every time you inhale. Turns out I smoked a whole sativa joint in about three minutes after having zero tolerance.
November 26, 20204 yr I just started a new program called 6 weeks of the work - trainer is Amoila Caesar - apparently he has done work for a bunch of professional athletes. It’s good stuff - brutal. I’d say a mix of p90x and CrossFit maybe?

What I do when at home working and there's absolutely no one here, I count how many hours I go without speaking a word. It can be maddening, or I can look at it as resting my vocal cords to one day become a great singer! Is it too early for a cocktail? I’ve probably had a variety of posts. Bought a townhouse June 2018, after 2.5yrs with my job in Syracuse region and everything going great. Our HQ is in Minnesota and the upstate NY group is a holdover from manufacturing we’ve done out here for probably 50+ years (use that number because we have 3 employees who have been with our group in this same area for over 40 years). Manufacturing all moved to Mexico (in phases, beginning late 2015) so we went from 100s of people to maybe 40ish. Sold the building (over 1M sqft) 3ish years ago and have remained in part of the office section as a leased tenant since then (new owner does a ton of manufacturing in the region and has been using our old building as storage/warehousing location). They got awarded a contract to make covid testing kits in April, decided the facility we occupy would be the location they need to quickly turn over to accommodate that work along with massive hiring, and politely kicked us out of the building on like 7-10 days notice (we were working from home for several weeks, but we still had tons of personal items as well as decades worth of work related items there). about a month later, the leadership team at HQ in Minnesota decided "we can buy or lease a new building in upstate ny for the group of 35-40ish working out there... or we can just relocate that entire business unit to HQ and have all 1500+ people under the same roof”. Decided to go with option 2, offering to pay full relocation expenses for all employees to move (before covid ruined everything, was going to be a weeklong trip to MN to explore the area, house hunt, etc. Then help you sell your home and cover all sellers fees on your behalf. Multiple trips between MN and NY during that process. Then paying all closing costs if you choose to buy in MN. And of course covering all packing/moving/travel expenses to get you, family, and belongings from NY to MN). I’m closing in on 5yrs, enjoy my job and what I do, was elevated to a level that earns annual bonuses (paid this past June) so I’ll have my first year of my career breaking into the 6-figure mark (12 years after graduating college), and in 5 years living back in Syracuse area again, I haven’t really established anything of significance to tie me down to the area (aka, relationship or any ride-or-die friendships), so figured that moving to a larger area with a more diverse population would be a benefit. Delays there due to health crisis obviously, but when things normalize again I’m hopefully it will bring about positive changes and opportunities. Also, almost nobody wants to move or has the situation (parents, kids, spouse, etc) to allow them to move, so since the announcement in late May, I think I’m only the 2nd person to make the move, don’t know of anyone else that is definitely planing to (only 2-3 still on the fence), and probably 6-7 people have already started other jobs, I think 4-5 with our only direct competitor that is also based in Syracuse area. So chances that I could become one of the most senior members of our entire group within the next 18months (people not moving are allowed to keep their role remotely through July 2022) are there which could also allow me earlier advancements (if I decide I want them) than otherwise would have been possible.
November 27, 20204 yr Went for a walk in the woods yesterday to re-install my tree roof for tomorrow, so I counted that for my "exercise" yesterday. And of course I ate too much, today I will go for around a 2 1/2 mile run over lunch. Tomorrow will be sitting in a tree stand all day.
