Trying to get rid of my 2020 weight and also I’m single now so I have to give an ish about what I look like.

I’ve lost a few pounds by trying to run and speed roping a bit. I’m horrible at both. I think I’ve hit myself so much with my jump rope that I’m going to have to start calling myself Daddy.

How is everyone else making out?

I've got myself a good routine going.

I train 4-6 times a week. I've set myself up with a nice little garage gym with a pull up bar, treadmill, rower, squat rack, plates, barbell, speed rope, box for box jumps, kettlebell etc so I tend to do a lot of very varied workouts.

Variety is key if you can manage it as it keeps it fresh.

I was in great shape up until covid. Then the gyms closed, I suck at working out at home, and I basically drank every day for half a year.

I'm back now, doing HIIT classes 3 days a week for the past 6 weeks, which are really tough. Stamina is almost back to where it was but I need to lose about 10 to 12 lbs to get back to my normal weight of 180.

Keep at it bud. Habit and routine really are the key to it I think.

Oh I know. I was crushing it for years before the pandemic hit. Still mad I let myself go for the first time in my life. Still in decent shape and pretty strong, just a bit of weight I need to drop. I hate making drastic changes so as far as diet I have been tightening it up a little bit each week.

And balance that's important. I eat well for the most part but I allow myself a treat meal once a week and I let myself have some alcohol.

This has been a tough year for us all so don't be too hard on yourself. During the first UK lock down I lost 8kg. The second lock down I've struggled a little more mentally and so I think I've put on a few. Need to get back to my routine and drink less alcohol again.

I tried to get into lifting weights, but they’re just  so heavy, so I decided to lay down instead.

I’m finally back up to 15 - 20+ miles per week running every other day. Thanks to some strained calf muscles, oppressive heat, and f Covid apathy, I spent most of the summer struggling to get to 8-10 miles per week.  During the slack, I ballooned from about 175, all the way up to 181.  With the increased miles, I should be able to work my way back down before too long.

I've just switched back from biking to running outside and stationary bike inside. My running won't exceed 10-12 miles per week though. I plan to stationary bike 2 times a week for 1/2 hour and whenever it's too bad to run outside. The hope is to stay in close shape over the winter and then back on the bike for long rides in the spring/summer. I do want to make the 84 mile bike ride on the Redbank Valley Rails to Trails ( total up and back). But we'll see.

I highly recommend getting a Peloton if that is in your budget. Use mine religiously. Best cardio workout around.
