Hmm not sure how I feel about that. Proven HC at the NFL level who did a really good job for the Niners but this is an offense led league and I'm not sure how Harbaugh would adjust to that?

As for the rest, I’m not looking for Doug to "do the job”.  I’m talking about communicating to the GM types of attributes he’d like to have, not specific names. I think it would be crazy to think any franchise doesn’t have at least that. Hell, if not, why even have the HC in the war room, or as part of an introductory press conference?

I don't agree or disagree about having an OC - my point is, hire a coach and let him make that call.      If it works, great, and if it doesn't, fire him and move on.       I have never heard of micromanaged coaches ever being successful.           Generally, that's done by bad organizations who don't want to eat a failed coach's contract and are trying to buy another year.            Look at any successful organization and you'll never see the coach being dictated to about his coaching staff or who he plays.

When I said "do the job", I meant coaching the team.            As far as communication, I completely agree that a coach and his coordinators and position coaches should have input in the draft as well as when signing FA's.           I don't think the owner should have a thing to do with anything but financial decisions.

I agree with everything here. 

The reality here is that they won't fire Howie. They will fire Doug and they will keep Wentz. That's the reality. They are tied to Wentz. And Lurie is tied to Howie.
