RUEagle Posted April 23, 2020 Posted April 23, 2020 First he was rumored to be available. Now we’re being linked to have interest in Trent Williams. Today, PFT discusses how Howie never met him face to face and was shocked Dillard dropped. Says he’s having trouble adapting to the city of Philly as well as adjusting to an NFL locker room. He was decent I thought in relief duty and we all know OT take time to develop now a days. So what’s the consensus. All nonsense or where there’s smoke there’s fire? I’m not gonna lie I’m a little worried.
Captain F Posted April 23, 2020 Posted April 23, 2020 Trade him to Washington for Williams and a 3rd this year. 2
Infam Posted April 23, 2020 Posted April 23, 2020 The rumor was a hoax. Dillard was showing promise at LT, it was when they moved him to RT that his play fell off a cliff. They didn't like that, because they want their guys to be flexible - but in the end he will be LT and play just fine over there. 5 1
20dawk4life Posted April 23, 2020 Posted April 23, 2020 So many rumors because the media has nothing substantial and needs something to talk about. "Oh he’s bad because he struggled at a position he never played before”. Our media is a joke. If we trade him I’ll sheet myself. 3
UK_EaglesFan89 Posted April 23, 2020 Posted April 23, 2020 So I think there's some truth to the organisation being unprepared on Dillard. They didn't expect him to drop so I doubt they put a lot of resources in to him. But I don't think they are going to give up on him after a year. Not having let JP walk. And Dillard played well at LT when he was asked to step in.
toolg Posted April 23, 2020 Posted April 23, 2020 I think it's a mix of half-truths. Maybe they weren't prepared to have Dillard fall to them. But he was, he was on top of their board, so he's the pick. I think the team is working him up to starting LT. Even if they get Trent Williams, how much is left in his tank? He's not the future. I don't think they're moving Dillard. 1
RUEagle Posted April 23, 2020 Author Posted April 23, 2020 I have to think there’s poor value in moving him now. Unless he’s a complete wacko behind the scenes you have to stick with him at LT Also Williams will be 32 when the season starts. 1

Of course he was bad at RT and I blame the coaching staff for putting him in that position. They wouldn't have let JP and Big V walk if they weren't OK with starting Dillard at LT. He was a rook and on a new team last year. He'll be fine. 1
20dawk4life Posted April 23, 2020 Posted April 23, 2020 Rumors of him in a package deal for jets first rounder
Mike030270 Posted April 23, 2020 Posted April 23, 2020 So this is the crazy rumor for this years draft day. Huh 2

jsdarkstar Posted April 23, 2020 Posted April 23, 2020 Uggh. he's our starting left tackle. Better get used to the idea. No way he is going to get traded.

CaliEagle Posted April 23, 2020 Posted April 23, 2020 I don't get the worry. He played terrible at RT. But, when he played at LT, he played really well to the point that I wasn't sure if I wanted Peters back in there. 2

I felt they should have kept with the hot hand in Dillard. Give him the experience 1
ManchesterEagle Posted April 23, 2020 Posted April 23, 2020 I even saw an article which said a source suggested the Eagles had no interest and it was a Skins leak trying to drum up interest.
chut26 Posted April 23, 2020 Posted April 23, 2020 Only way I would trade him is if we got Jets 1st pick, and all we gave up was Dillard. I would ONLY be happy if we got Lamb with the Jets pick, and another potential stud LT with our own first rounder. 1
Cochis_Calhoun Posted April 23, 2020 Posted April 23, 2020 I don't buy its an issue, yes he played badly at RT but has Lane ever filled in at LT? There's no way they'd trade Lane, the league is full of specialist one side tackles and tackles that can play both sides at all pro level are as common as unicorn crap.

philafan4o8 Posted April 23, 2020 Posted April 23, 2020 Jonathan Martin 2.0. If this is true, ship him out. I have not been overly impressed with him but it was only his first season. This better not be true or someone needs to be fired

Linked to Jets in a possible trade? I think there's been too much smoke now to simply ignore...
