Wow, Reagor was the pick all along, and Desean basically spoiled it before the draft:

Someone in the media said ge was their number 2 reciever on the board. I believe it.

Really? Interesting. Mind you, if you dug around you'd probably find that there's almost every combination out there.

I am hoping for Brandin Cooks but more sturdy and not so easily concussed

i do too, i think his 4.47 combine turned some people off, but he was clocked at 4.22-4.28 right after

The combine time put people off but I don't know why. He deliberately gained weight for the combine and that didn't work so he dropped back down. The tape shows he's fast, real fast.

I'd say Ruggs 1, Reagor 2.

He also was timed in a game at 22.6 mph, which was faster than anyone in the NFL last year.

I love the breakdowns this guy does. Here he is looking at our fourth round pick Wallace playing against LSU when he's mainly lined up against Justin Jefferson.

This guy tends to not cherry pick plays to make someone look good or bad, so I don't think there's any plays he missed where Jefferson made him look bad. And Jefferson did have 106 yards receiving in the game, so he did make some plays. But on this tape, when Jefferson was matched up in the slot against Wallace, he looked somewhat meh. And I didn't see the kind of receiver who was going to make a lot of big plays down the field against NFL corners. Wallace was able to keep up with him on deep routes, and he certainly isn't super fast.

I feel like the Pandemic is the reason he fell. If teams brought him in for workouts they would have realized he is a freak reciever.

His qbs were awful too. I think people will look back and say how the hell did he fall to 21?

Jalen Reagor is officially wearing #18

Time to get my new jersey

"Kitna watched the first round of the draft with his family on Thursday night and they all erupted when they heard Reagor's name called.

Now, he can't wait to see what Reagor is able to do playing with Carson Wentz in the Eagles' offense for the next four years.

"There's no telling what he can do," Kitna said. "I know at TCU he was kind of that Z receiver on the right. We moved him all over the place. He can go in motion, he can come in the backfield.

"When he gets the ball in his hands, he's dynamically special. When you think of a guy like Tyreek Hill, what he's done, Antonio Brown, what he's done. Those kinds of things that those guys do on a football field. He kind of has that same specialness to him."

i absolutely cannot wait to watch this kid play. He's a F'n 🚀

He runs like Percy Harvin

Doesn't seem to me like someone who is a distraction...

He left out the last part of the conversation when Alshon praised Jalen Hurts for like 45 minutes.

If Alshon ever wants to get another decent NFL contract, he'll be a good player and a better leader this year.

Pretty sure he’s not likely to be healthy to play until December... something tells me he doesn’t see the field at all this season.

Well, then all he has is leadership/cheerleading. Rah rah rah, Alshon. Get yo pom-poms out.

I don't mind not taking Jefferson since he's primarily a slot receiver.

Just revisiting this.  He is killing it.

What the hell you singling me out for?    I don't even follow college, but people said Jefferson was a slot guy and that he took 90% of snaps in college at the slot.

Sorry fellas, just grabbing some quotes from a search that others said Jefferson was a slot receiver.  :angel

Lastly, Eagles obviously liked Reagor more than Jefferson because they passed him up. Why you ask? While Jefferson is a very good receiver, he played 90% of his snaps at the slot position. He also doesn't have the after the catch running ability as Reagor. Jefferson is solid, solid hands, runs great routes, high points nicely. But he is not a burner nor is he someone who will be a creative runner. He does create separation with his route work. I will say, I did see a lot of body catches by Jefferson. He is not a ball snatcher like CeeDee Lamb or Juedy.

Pretty sure the Eagles wanted an outside receiver and not another slot like Agholor or Matthews.

This guy has the potential to learn so much from D Jackson.

From a style perspective, body type, etc he has Hill potential. He very well might not become Hill, but my point is we need a guy like this and they take him, and instead most Eagles fans wanted Keenan Allen/Justin Jefferson.

Right, and let me be clear. I'm not saying he's going to be as good as Tyreek Hill. I'm saying from a style perspective he's like Hill. Short and built like a brick shithouse, but fast as hell. More of a dynamic playmaker than volume ''true number 1 WR.'' Can play everywhere, be used on jet sweeps and screens, difference maker in the return game, etc. The offense desperately needed a guy like this last year. Every Eagles fans in the world said this. Then they take this guy and all of a sudden everyone who ****ed and complained that Justin Jefferson was just a slot guy are acting like he's the far superior draft prospect for the Eagles.

I don't understand all the Raegor hate and people losing their minds. All we said last year was we need speed and especially at outside receiver. We got exactly that and one of the best options at 21 who can actually fit the offense. Now people want the slower slot receiver. As for the Lamb thing, yes of course I wanted him but teams weren't trading. Teams were taking players they wanted! There were no trades other than the TB one position nonsense. You can't force teams to trade down.

Jefferson caught 109 passes from the slot last year. He had 111 catches total So I have no idea where you are coming up with him playing "all over” for lsu. He was a slot receiver in college. He will be forced to play on the outside in minny now so we will see how that plays out.

On 4/24/2020 at 9:16 AM, jsdarkstar said:

Well to be fair, Reagor played a majority of his snaps from the outside, while Jefferson took a majority of his snaps from the slot. The Eagles wanted speed on the outside and they get that in Reagor. Reagor also has the ability run routes. He's not just a straight line guy and he can return kicks and punts. So he is going to be used a lot.

HE’S A SLOT WR. Yes he’s going to be a very good one and I wouldn’t have been upset if he was the choice, but I’m happier with Reagor giving us a downfield threat and positional versatility.

Jefferson was getting passes thrown to him from the number 1 pick in the draft who had a historic college season, all while playing with the best WR in the country drawing attention away from him. Can’t believe how upset people are that we didn’t pick up a slot WR in the first.

My quote in the Reagor Thread was: "I'm here to review. You guys who like him are helping me to get on board with this. I'm sure many fans on WIP are going to rip Howie for not taking Jefferson."

What I didn't know about Jefferson was that 90% of his snaps were in the slot, while Reagor has played a majority of his snaps on the outside and that's what the Eagles were looking for and one reason why they drafted him."

Clearly I didn't come up with this on my own. I read about it and heard about it on WIP. Clearly it's wrong. I also wanted Jefferson and was trying to get on board with the pick.

@downundermike is just a big meany who wanted to pick on us.

Also why he was drafted over Jefferson.

Literally have never been more furious with the Eagles. If Howie survives this debacle. I might not forgive Lurie. Reagor has been complete project and pulls up on routes. All stuff on the film. Really tried to get with the pick but Jefferson is becoming on the best receivers in the NFL in 10 games.....

He blew it in the Pumphrey draft. Blew it JJAW. Blew it in the Hollins draft. How many times can this guy single handily tank the franchise? We have passed up so many top tier talents for projects.

JJ was 2nd best deep threat 2 years ago in college. Only behind Jerry Jeudy. You would think a team that preaches numbers all the time would have figured this out.
