He wouldn't necessarily get punished. Sit him to keep Cowboys away from Playoffs. It would look like a punishment. It can also send message that losing to Cowboys isn't acceptable.

Just rest Mialata and Cox and put Jacquet on McLaurin and that should be enough to guarantee a loss.  Mialata suffered a head injury today, so it would be justified to rest him.

Yup, and let Alshon, Djax, Ertz and anyone else that's not gonna be on the team next year play or are up for trade. Preserve all our starters not to risk any off season recovery time.

If I was coach, I would act like this next week: 

If they get excited about making plays/winning, I would say something like, "Knock it off!!! This win is nothing to be excited about!!! You've been pathetic all season!!!" and make them do push-ups. As matter of fact, Doug needs to act like this coach next week.
