Infam,

Results drive the narrative. Only results. Howie is an abject failure in the draft. That is a fact. When a superior roster meets an inferior roster, the superior team usually wins. Howie's job is to build a superior team, and he has proven since 2016 to present that he can't do that. So yeah, firing him is the right call.

Oh really? See, comparisons like: He is a snake, and all sorts of weird attributes people assign to him make me think otherwise.

Two picks that even TATErs could make, blindfolded and Howie ish the bed on.      How many games difference would those have made this season?   Enough is enough

What I dont get is so many people complain that the players arent being used correctly.

That was one of the biggest complaints on here.  That's on coaching, mainly Doug.

Not defending Howie and his moves the last couple years but just before that, this guy could do no wrong.  Many calling him the best GM in football.  He tried to keep the band together after 2017 and it didnt work.  His draft picks the last couple years didnt work.  Do I expect him to keep doing the same?  No.  I think he will change the way he drafts and acquires FA going forward.

Precisely. Lurie is probably going to find out tomorrow that this is not a good job and not one many people want.

I love that a reporter snuck in "potential clashes with the front office" as a deterrent for candidates.

If I tell you I'm not overreacting and say imo he should've been fired and give valid evidence. It really doesn't matter he had one year with lightning in a bottle.  The exception isnt the normal.

If we are talking results now, this season is the exception.

I'm saying he'll have a chance to rebuild the roster and go from there. I fully expect Howie to be here for at least 2/3 years.

Sucks, but it is what it is. Let's hope he turns it around, I guess.

Ya we might as well accept it.  4 coaches fired and Howie is the mastermind.

I hope not! My goodness I’d rather see Duce or Kafka. 😂

The board was split on Reagor and Jefferson.  Some also wanted to move up and get Lamb.  Others like myself wanted Higgins.

The way this offense played, under Doug's leadership I might add, those 2 wouldn't have been as effective.

Super excessive overreaction, just because he doesn't want to fire our GM. The dude that should've been manager of the year not long ago.

But hey, always on the guy all love to hate. And if the owner isn't following because he actually has a clue about what is going on with the team, let's go crazy on him too.

Got to say, sometimes I wonder how much religion and stereotypes are to blame for your reactions.

How many GM's get to pick not 1, not 2, but 3 head coaches yet still keep their job? Isn't there an old saying that a GM gets 1 coach and if he is lucky, maybe 2? This guy gets a 3rd shot? Roseman is incompetent at putting a roster together and the one thing he used to be good at (salary cap), he is incompetent there as well. Spare me the executive of the year crap. That 2017 roster was mainly every free agent him signing working out, Carson having an MVP type of year, and the stars aligning. Look at the roster construction prior to that season and since that Super Bowl and tell me why this clown should still be the GM.

After the Lurie presser I’m not even sure if Carson will be back.

yeah...sounded like the next HC will make that call..assuming Howie allows it...

Yes really. Regardless of the colorful comments surrounding it, the primary issue is Howie Roseman has blown every draft he has been in charge of. All of them now that Wentz has transformed from a QB to an "asset" as Lurie puts it.

Howie Roseman absolutely sucks at drafting players. He should be gone for that reason alone. He won't be though.

Therefore, I will continue to boycott businesses associated with the Eagles, and I will give the Eagles zero dollars directly or indirectly until he's gone. I will encourage others to do so as well. After all, that's all I can do, but I'll keep doing it.

Lurie just said that he has picked and always will pick the coach.

Wow JJAW is that much better the DK in your eyes?

based on Lurie's conference, i got a feeling we are about to see HC Staley.

People just love to be mad for no reason. Lurie did make excuses for Howie which is annoying as hell. Other than that though he gave an honest look at where the team has been in recent years, and where it's going. If you add two and two together it's quite obvious why Doug was fired. The basic summary of his PC was that they pushed for short term moves at the expense of the long term to try to win another SB. At this point they realize that has them in a bad spot and they have to rebuild or at the very least re-tool. Doug was obviously more interested in continuing on the same path and trying to be a winner right now. You also have the reported coaching hires that Doug wanted which would have been a mess. I am going to wait and see what happens from here before jumping off of a cliff. If they hire Kafka or Duce, ok I am right there with everyone. If they bring in a sharp offensive mind like Riley, Brady, or Daboll then I have some optimism. We all know the organization is in a bad place and the optics of firing Doug a week later isn't good. The more information that comes out though the better the decision looks and it's not like Doug was setting the world on fire since the SB either.

"Win now" certainly was the plan after they won the Super Bowl. 4 years later if Doug still thought he could turn this around short-term, he is deluded. The Eagles need a long-term rebuild. I do feel Doug's plan and Lurie's plan going forward didn't mesh... Doug continuing to promote coaches from within has run out its course. It's time to reach out elsewhere for talent.

Right....just 2-3 years ago he was considered a great GM.  Has he made mistakes since?  Yes not denying that.  But let's hope that he will not make those mistakes anymore.

Let John Dorsey be the draft guy and Howie focus on cap. That’s the only way we can rebuild with Howie still being here.

When it comes down to it they fired Doug, because he wanted a part of Howie’s power.

Well official explanation remains: DP wanted everything possible to be done for next season. So nobody would "question him" as Lurie let slip there. But Lurie didn't want to go all in on next year. He didn't believe it to just be the injuries nor Wentz (and it should tell us everything that now that DP is gone Wentz wants to stay!), Lurie believes it's time for the rebuild. So that's where they collided, and Lurie fired him.
