If they go outside, the outside coach might want to draft his own QB and it sounds like Lurie wants to try to resurrect Wentz's career. So, they might hire the HC based on who will be willing to work with Wentz.

But hey, always on the guy all love to hate. And if the owner isn't following because he actually has a clue about what is going on with the team, let's go crazy on him too. Got to say, sometimes I wonder how much religion and stereotypes are to blame for your reactions. Religion and stereotypes??

Tried that with Chip Kelly and Howie ran up the bill on heavy contracts which he then had to scramble to get out of once Chip was gone. Howie will always try to undermine anyone else picking players. It's what he wants most to do and unfortunately it's what he sucks most at. If it weren't for the Dolphins helping out with trades, 2016-2018 would've been much different.

I sure like the last pick he made, as it gave us a Super Bowl.

January 11, 20214 yr Last year Howie said they realized the issue was short-term trying to retain guys who helped them win the SB...he repeated that last week and Lurie regurgitated that again today.C Could they cite that 3 years in a row?

And definitely want him to hire a seasoned, innovative OC to run the offense. Just lead the team and not try to handle both HC and OC duties.

Doubtful, they asked Doug just a few days ago about wanting more say and he said no he just wants to coach and has maintained that statement his entire time here.

At some point they're going to have to admit that the biggest problem is failing miserably at drafting players.

Give me a break. While I will always thank Doug for 2017, that was lighting in a bottle. As we have all seen since Reich and Defillpo left, Doug has shown himself to be nothing but a stunod. Expect another yes man as coach which is the reason they hired Doug in the first place.
January 11, 20214 yr 8 minutes ago, Infam said: Well official explanation remains: DP wanted everything possible to be done for next season. So nobody would "question him" as Lurie let slip there. But Lurie didn't want to go all in on next year. He didn't believe it to just be the injuries nor Wentz (and it should tell us everything that now that DP is gone Wentz wants to stay!), Lurie believes it's time for the rebuild. So that's where they collided, and Lurie fired him. Wentz wants to stay? You sure about that? From that presser I’m not even sure if either of the "assets” will be Eagles next year. Lurie also let it slip he wants more picks, and now picking Wentz hurt their draft capital. At 6 they might be in play for another quarterback for the factory. 2 minutes ago, SBorBust said: Did anyone mention the subtle shot Lurie took at Alshon for the drop? Well he wasn’t wrong. 😂

It's a valid point. The way I see it, they did begin to rebuild/retool last year, but the harsh criticism of Pederson let our HC to demand a bigger focus on next year.
