When your franchise qb gets injured missing the playoffs 3 years in a row you get someone in to play playoff football for year 4. It's like battered wife syndrome in here listening to all the tears for Wentz. The greatest QB to never win a playoff game. Move on they picked up insurance that'll most likely be the starter at some point this year if history is any indication.

I don’t care how you slice it, it’s asinine to waste a 2nd round pick on a backup QB. Literally could have signed Mariota or Jamie’s Winston, revamped one of their careers and flipped them for a pick or two. You’re gaining nothing out of this move.

I’m assuming they go with a RB or a K at 103....that would make sense tonight

It's asinine until he's leading your favorite team down the field for a meaningful win. 2and round pick value is what you'll be cheering then. Just let it happen.

Is there the equivalent of a 25th amendment section 4 for GM's? Howie is clearly not well.

Throwing to that WR, what was his name?

Their reason for making this pick is a joke. Not saying the kid is. Heck some people compare his game to Lamar Jackson. Frankly if this kid is that good he’s going to replace the starter.

So he wastes a  2nd round pick and forgo a position of need to invest in a low ceiling QB...In order to acquire future assess that will at best likely only result in a 2nd pick anyway? Wut?

This  logic only works with late round picks..And its a very slim margin of flipping him for a 1st , and  now you're betting on Carson Wentz getting injured and him performing amazing to get a shot at a 1st..Insane.

I agree.

too many needs.  If you use one of the three 4th round picks on a QB with this logic, great.  But not a 2nd.  Stupid.

When they said get younger we didn't expect QB!

I blame Lurie. He expressed desire to draft QB every few years.  I think they felt the pressure and drafted Thorson.  That didn't work out so they're at it again appeasing him.

i have no idea if Hurts will pay off for them down the road, . ..

what i do know?

that we have holes we needed to fill now and a 2nd rd pick should see playing time his rookie year.

thet always seem to outsmart themselves...   yikes

No positive spin?

I didn’t know I had a reputation as a positive spin guy. But even if I did, I don’t even know how you could positively spin this pick.

The problem is if they wanted QB insurance, you sign a decent vet backup that has playing experience. That you can trust to fill in right away. Not spend a valuable 2nd round pick on a project QB, that will take time to develop and likely wouldn’t actually have confidence stepping in if Wentz gets hurt this year given with lack of offseason.

Is that how you do it? How many super bowls you got under your belt?

Just because Howie helped win one Super Bowl doesn’t mean he’s void from criticism the rest of his life. I actually have always given him the benefit of the doubt and defended him. But this is plain stupid.

We had a vet backup last year. How'd that work out? Maybe he learned something. Let it play out before you poo all over it at least. Or not. Makes no difference to me. I'm just bored.

This one doesn't Hurts so good, this one HURTS really bad. Why? I mean we have needs all over the defense, DE,DT,CB,S,LB, just throw a stone at a good cant miss defensive player, best avail. Hell we could use another Wr, always room for good Olineman, why Hurts, why now?

This just wreaks of a similar bad smell of wasting a 2nd on Sidney Jones. Always trying to outsmart everyone, and they end up just throwing picks away.If we are just going to throw them away anyway, why not trade them for players we KNOW can play now, even if it's only a year or two, you'd at least get some production from your 2nd rd pick. We likely wont see anything from Hurts for a few years , and thats if we get lucky.

We got another QB that is gonna be Hurt(s) all the time

I like the move. Good to see FO is self aware of the situation in front of them. I hope Wentz can be the franchise QB for years to come but at the end of the day the team needs a durable QB who doesn't miss important games. Most importantly, win.

Sorry man, if they were aware of the situation in front of them, they would have picked up more weapons for Wentz. Mims was there for us. And other needs.

Jalen Reagor.

Somewhere, Mcnabb is smiling lol.

I hate this pick. Since the damage is already done, i now am sitting here trying to spin it positively...(i can’t).

buuuuut, it will make the games that wentz misses going forward a lot more exciting. I hope Wentz finishes his career without missing time, but it probably isn’t going to happen.

he was the best player on their board.

Then whoever is creating their "board" really needs to get the F out of town.

Tate booing this pick just about lead pipe locks it as great decision 🤣
