I guess all we can do is wait. Wentz is a little fragile and Sudfield hasn't impressed.

If no one has brought it up yet, it needs reminding that DeAndre Hopkins went for David Johnson and essentially this pick

Thanks for making this worse.

I’ll admit I didn’t watch Howie’s interview and it was the first time I turned the draft off before it’s conclusion for the first time ever. Scanning the Twitter verse for notes and how slimey do you have to be to say "we may use him, but don’t fret, only reason he’s here is to be trained and build value”.

I get it’s a business, but the message being braodcast so blatantly is disgusting. He’s a good kid who looked stunned and emotionless. Where did the "emotional intelligence” go this staff has been lauded for?

Trying to make sense of this, what could this be.

-The Eagles think Hurts is so good they can eventually flip him for a first round pick in 2021 or 2022.

-The Eagles don't actually like Wentz as much as we think.

-The Eagles are REALLY concerned about Wentz's ability to stay healthy.

-The Eagles plan to use Hurts as some sort of gadget player.

-The Eagles know something we don't know.

-This is a combination of several factors mentioned above.

If they think that they are pretty stupid. How can his value increase if he doesn't play? And the hope has to be he doesn't play. Honestly it's a terrible pick. It's not improved the offense one bit.

Disagree. Jimmy G improved his value by not playing. Not saying its smart, but that could be why or part of the reason why they did this.

One of the reports  stumped Howie with a great question. What's the best case scenario for this pick? Hurts becomes a star and a starter. Then why the F did you sign Wentz to that contract. Its a pick that defies logic.

You're right actually yeah. Still it's a bad move. We have so many holes and we could have taken other positions of more need. It's the worst move Howie has ever taken.

I agree, its a horrible move. Im just trying to figure out what the hell they are thinking since it makes zero sense on the surface.

It makes zero sense on the surface and zero sense when you dig deeper on it.

Stupid pick or not they had a reason for doing this. Im just trying to figure that out, not justify it.

You and me both bud. I don't get it. So far this off season they've given Wentz and this offense one new actual weapon. No X receiver. It's another bad draft in my book.

I hate this pick. Since the damage is already done, i now am sitting here trying to spin it positively...(i can’t).

buuuuut, it will make the games that wentz misses going forward a lot more exciting. I hope Wentz finishes his career without missing time, but it probably isn’t going to happen.

This s isn’t the same as Foles. If a 2nd round pick lights it up like Foles did Carson isn’t getting his job back.

Whatever their reason it definitely isn’t the crap they’re telling us.

Yeah I'm not buying what they've told us right now. A second round pick is really valuable. This is the same second round pick they didn't want to give up to get Lamb.

Agreed with both of you. They wouldnt give this pick up to go get the best WR in the draft. You dont value a pick for a backup QB that much.

My point exactly! You can’t tell me this is some kind of hope he becomes a 1st round pick one day. That’s plain ridiculous and insulting to our intelligence. If that’s really the reason then Roseman should be fired immediately.

Can I just play devil's advocate and ask why no one questioned Bill when he took Jimmy. If Howie had a better drafting record would anyone be complaining? Not saying I agree with the decision but answer me that

It just isn't how you build to win in my opinion. Not unless you have a really good roster that doesn't have major holes and so can afford to do these things... Like NE in years gone by.

Not even the Pats would do this. Draft a guy in Brady’s prime at the same position in the 2nd round. It’s incomprehensible for them to do this.

It's also unforgivable. Howie has screwed this draft up. This draft which apparently was so important due to finally having lots of picks.

Howie’s first three picks. Special Teams return man, backup QB, and Special Teams linebacker. Did he think this was the first three picks or the last three picks of the draft? I can’t quite tell.

I don't know why with Howie we expected any different though.

Honestly I didn’t. I’ve pretty much expected this. Been saying for sometime Howie and the brass really think they’re smarter than everyone else. If this draft doesn’t confirm it then I don’t know what will.

They've messed this up and I'm not sure they can recover it now. They still need a WR, a CB and a S. Plus OL and a RB.
