Honestly I dont see any safetys worth a first this year (although we know at least one will be taken). Moehrig may have his weaknesses, but overall he is a nice prospect. All 3 are rangy ballhawk types and TOs are the name of the defensive game going forward. Might be good to get 2 in one shot then you'd have your pair of Ss who can cover loads of ground and take some heat off your CBs. Sort of like the way TB shutdown KC in the SB. Of course you'd still need actual LBs, which we haven't had in a while. I'm not sure Mills is back now. Schwartz loved him and now that Schwartz isn't here I'm not sure they'll bring him back. I guess they may as he's got versatility and despite his struggles he is seen as a leader. But I'm not sure that Jenkins role will be so prevalent in this new scheme? No D-linemen worthy of a top 10 pick, only two OT’s with a top 10-12 grade, a bunch of QB’s who’ll always go high because of need, a couple of good but not elite corners you could debate may or may not be worthy of a top 10 pick and 4 very good albeit elite pass catchers. We pick at 6 and are in prime position to grab a very good/elite offensive weapon. In any other draft, top D-linemen would push someone like Chase right into our lap but because of the lack of talent at that position, it’ll be 50/50. Here are my 5 elite players in this class; Lawrence, Chase, Pitts, Sewell and Parsons. We paid him around $4M (give or take ... can't remember the exact number) when we signed him last year to a 1 year deal. I think he did OK there but only OK. I'm not sure he's going to even get $4M. I think he'll test FA, I'm not sure there will be many takers. philafan4o8 Posted April 12, 2021 Share Posted April 12, 2021 Safety is deep and I don’t think Moehrig is what Gannon is looking for at Safety. I haven’t seen much of Him but he looks like his strength is man to man coverage and playing in the box. This is a Jim Schwartz type of safety. Not sure how much Gannon will ask his safeties to do this. There are other safeties in day 2 that are better as two deep safeties with ability to tackle as well. personally think Jevon Holland might be the best prospect for the Eagles at safety.
