March 9, 20224 yr Black Rifle is good coffee. They are a veteran run group. Not Q Anon. I've been making a French Press with half of black rifle, and half of Kona from the farmer's market, plus some egg shell, if I have it, and a pinch of salt.

They're all pretty even keeled dudes all around. Ya they have pretty conservative values but they did get dragged through the mud for a bit because that's just todays culture. I expect their quality to go down soon now that they're a publicly traded company.
March 31, 20223 yr I'm a proud foodie and a drinkie (Is that a term? Well, I just made it one!) Only the finest food, coffee, beer, wine, and liquor will do. Preparation is everything, so my morning coffee is made from freshly ground whole beans purchased from a local supplier and brewed in a percolator (slow and steady), though I do enjoy using the French press on occasion. I cheat a little bit, though, by brewing the a whole pot and then saving leftovers in a mason jar. I usually get 2-3 days out of a 12-cup brew, so it saves me some time a few mornings out of a week, when I just have to warm up the remnants. I'd been going to a farmer's market for awhile that has a huge selection of flavored roasts, along with some more traditional varieties that are very good, but lately, I've been buying from this guy who trafficks in some pretty classic beans. He owned a shop in Lemoyne that I believe had been inherited from family. It was really quaint with classic coffee-shop vibes, right down to the 100-year-old cash register. Back around Christmas, though, he closed down. However, he said that he was trying to stay in the business as a delivery service. I liked his products and wanted to help support him, so I got some family and friends together had him deliver a decent-sized order a couple of months ago. Then, last week, I saved on the delivery fee the second time around by meeting him at a bar and picking up an order. It's kind of funny, because back when the shop was closing down, my brother was visiting and told me about his plans for a delivery service and said half-jokingly, "Is this guy gonna be my dealer?" It's pretty much turned into exactly that. What I really like is how he offers some really classic roasts from around the world. Pictured in the canisters are Guatemalan and Sumatran. It's all very fairly priced, too, ranging from about $13-$16/lb. About 2.5 lbs. will last me about 2 months. Today, we're drinking mocha java: medium-bodied with an earthy and herbal character mixed with some chocolatey undertones. Best of all, it keeps me from murdering people!

May 25, 20223 yr This thread is a travesty. Just dollop some Devonshire clotted cream on your biscuits and tea is complete.
May 25, 20223 yr Been digging a Kenyan roast recently. Subtly fruity and earthy with a nice backbone of acidity.

Those lighter roasts offer more bang-for-your-buck in terms of caffeine. 5 hours ago, mr_hunt said: creamer. Creamer?! I hardly knew her!
