Yeah, all they need to do is brick the layup by abandoning the candidate that crushed Trump last time. Biden may not be the best candidate they've ever had, but he damn sure is better than Hillary, and he's already proven he can beat Trump without issue, so obviously your strategic advice is to throw that all away and risk the perception of internal chaos to the party by going with a completely new unnamed candidate. A lot of people are good candidates in theory. Very few are good in practice. Biden’s good in practice.  Theoretical perfect, young candidate X sounds good until you find out he’s awkward or too feminine or obnoxious or boring.

A few contenders to consider, Josh Shapiro and Andy Brashear. Gavin Newsom too. However, Let's not forget Grandpa Joe beat Trump once. I believe he can do it again no matter what the polls say. The election last night destroyed those polls.

Yep I did. The idea is to win not fumble. I’m a Biden fan and voted for him and will do so again but my vote isn’t enough.

Biden is an incumbent, he's the option that represents being up by 7 pts with less than 2 min left in the 4th. Keeping him on the ballot is like picking up the first down and sliding in bounds short of the goal line. Going with the unnamed younger candidate is like Swift scoring the touchdown and giving the Commanders a chance to score and then forces us to field an onsides kick. One option is boring but secures the win, the other seems better on the surface because you put more pts on the board, but carries the larger downside and risk when a win is all that matters.

I didn't say he wouldn't win but there is a risk that he won't and the issue is his age and slow decline.
