Like a lot of Trump’s policies, it’s based on fear.

"That’s Their Problem”: How Jared Kushner Let the Markets Decide America’s COVID-19 Fate

First-person accounts of a tense meeting at the White House in late March suggest that President Trump’s son-in-law resisted taking federal action to alleviate shortages and help Democratic-led New York. Instead, he enlisted a former roommate to lead a Consultant State to take on the Deep State, with results ranging from the Eastman Kodak fiasco to a mysterious deal to send ventilators to Russia.

LONDON (Reuters) - A lawyer for Julian Assange told a London court on Friday that she was present when an ally of U.S. President Donald Trump offered to arrange a pardon for the WikiLeaks founder in return for information that would "benefit President Trump politically”.

His lawyer, Jennifer Robinson, said in a witness statement to the court that she observed a meeting at the Ecuadorian embassy in London in 2017 between Assange and Republican then-U.S. Representative Dana Rohrabacher.

She said Rohrabacher and an assistant offered to arrange a pardon for Assange in return for information about the hacking of Democratic emails before the 2016 U.S. presidential election.

"They stated that President Trump was aware of and had approved of them coming to meet with Mr Assange to discuss a proposal – and that they would have an audience with the President to discuss the matter on their return to Washington DC,” she said.

This doesn't even move the needle in a post-truth era where soliciting aid from a foreign entity in an election is apparently not illegal.

I hope Biden wears a brown suit to his inauguration so we can watch the GOPs heads explode from the scandal.

Only if he also wears this exact same fedora.

Well that’s dumb. Does someone actually think trump sits in the Oval Office  opening mail?

That would suggest that he reads.... at all.

WASHINGTON — The Justice Department on Monday targeted a trio of cities where protests against police violence and racial injustice have been ongoing for months, saying officials in New York City, Seattle and Portland, Oregon "are permitting anarchy, violence and destruction.”

The designations come weeks after President Donald Trump announced plans to consider withholding federal funds from cities "that allow themselves to deteriorate into lawless zones.”

"We cannot allow federal tax dollars to be wasted when the safety of the citizenry hangs in the balance,” U.S. Attorney General William Barr said Monday in a news release. "It is my hope that the cities identified by the Department of Justice today will reverse course and become serious about performing the basic function of government and start protecting their own citizens.”

Trump Threatens To Issue Executive Order Preventing Biden From Being Elected President

In a wide-ranging speech at a campaign rally Saturday night, President Donald Trump ramped up attacks against his opponent, Joe Biden, calling Biden the "dumbest of all candidates," and went so far as to declare, "maybe I'll sign an executive order that you cannot have him as your president."

"He is the worst candidate. The dumbest of all candidates," Trump said of former Vice President Biden. "He is the worst candidate in the history of presidential politics."

Trump also expanded on his unproven claim that Biden is on drugs, stating, "they gave him a big fat shot in the a**… and for two hours, he is better than ever before. Problem is, what happens after that?"

The first debate between the two candidates is scheduled for September 29th, with moderator Chris Wallace of Fox News, and Trump said Saturday, "we're going to ask for a drug test. We are. I'd like to have a drug test."

At one point in the speech, Trump seemingly threatened to attempt to ban Biden from being elected President of the United States.

"You can't have this guy as your president," Trump argued. "You can't have — maybe I'll sign an executive order, you cannot have him as your president."

Key Background:

Prominent Democrats have expressed serious concerns that Trump may refuse to leave office should he lose the election in November. When asked by Fox News' Chris Wallace in July, if he would accept the election results, Trump said, "I have to see. Look, you — I have to see. No, I'm not going to just say yes. I'm not going to say no, and I didn't last time, either." Earlier this summer, Trump suggested delaying the presidential election, in which he trails by double-digits in many polls. "With Universal Mail-In Voting (not Absentee Voting, which is good), 2020 will be the most INACCURATE & FRAUDULENT Election in history. It will be a great embarrassment to the USA. Delay the Election until people can properly, securely and safely vote???" Trump tweeted in late July. Earlier this month, Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders warned that Congress and the media should begin to prepare for a scenario in which Trump refuses to willingly leave the White House. "This is not just idle speculation," said Sanders. "What we have got to do in the next two months is to alert the American people about what that nightmarish scenario might look like in order to prepare them for that possibility and talk about what we do if that happens." Back in May of 2019, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said, "We have to inoculate against that, we have to be prepared for that,” when discussing her concern that Trump would not give up power voluntarily if he lost re-election.

Crucial Quote:

"If I lose to him, I don't know what I'm going to do,” Trump said Saturday night. "I will never speak to you again. You'll never see me again."

Tangent:

Trump confirmed on Saturday night that he will nominate a woman to replace the late Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg in the coming days. "I will be putting forth a nominee next week. It will be a woman," Trump said. "I think it should be a woman because I actually like women much more than men."

So now Barr has the authority to make decisions for local government? They have to abide his guidelines? After he defunds them? He's not making any sense.

He's unhinged

They should impeach him for dereliction of duty tbh

DeVos slammed Biden on FoxNews then promoted it through the Education Department, violating Hatch Act.

Trump has turned the Executive Branch into operatives of his reelection campaign.

MSNBC going the "Trump is literally Hitler" rout in their reporting. It's a bad tactic. Trump isn't modeling his presidency or this country after Hitler's Germany. It's being modeled after Putin's Russia, and that's terrifying enough.

i think the regular viewers of cable news have mostly made up their minds & will be showing up to vote..just like the people who spend all day in political forums.

the folks who don't really follow politics are the only votes still up in the air, imo.

And that group is smaller than ever.  At this point if you are so apolitical enough to be undecided, you probabaly aren't even voting.

Hardly surprising, but still...

Trump last week pointedly praised Minnesotans’ genes at a campaign rally in a state that’s 84% white and where German and Scandinavian ancestry dominates

In the same speech, he mocked refugees and attacked three Democratic congresswomen of color: New York’s Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Michigan’s Rashida Tlaib and Minnesota’s Ilhan Omar.

"You have good genes, you know that, right?” Trump told the crowd of overwhelmingly white supporters Friday. "A lot of it is about the genes, isn’t it, don’t you believe?” he added. "The racehorse theory. You think we’re so different? You have good genes in Minnesota.”

The "racehorse theory” of genetics holds that some human beings are born genetically superior to others.

Halie Soifer, executive director of the Jewish Democratic Council of America, characterized Trump’s remarks as "eugenics” — basing a human being’s worth on genes. "It was used by NSDAPs to justify genocide,” she tweeted. "Today, it’s used by white nationalists — & apparently the @POTUS — to justify hate.”
