I'm going to use the same line you used with another poster here.  If you can't see the escalation that occurred here over many years on both sides of the aisle that got us to this point then there is nothing I or anyway else can say that will help you see objectively.

I didn't say that Dems didn't push things. But they did not escalate to the levels that Republicans have.

Let's look at appellate court judicial nominees.

Reagan appointed 78, Bush 41 appointed 37.

Clinton? Only 62. 24 judges were blocked by the Republican controlled Senate.

So Democrats return the favor and slow roll Bush 43 appellate nominees, and he gets 61 confirmed in 8 years.

So what happened? Republicans escalated. Democrats give the same treatment back and then Republicans fall on their crosses and claim the victim.....

Then over the next 8 years Obama gets only 49 appellate court nominations confirmed, and then the ultimate escalation - Republicans sit on a SC nominee for 8 months.

Trump has already packed the courts with 50 appellate confirmations in less than 4 years.

So please, tell me, how is it there is some sort of equivalency here?

I’m talking about the entire political and social division. Not just the judicial system.

That's just one example.

Look at gerrymandering. 9 of the 10 worst gerrymanders are in support of Republican controlled state legislatures: http://schwarzeneggerinstitute.com/theworstpartisangerrymanders

The state that actually did something positive about it? California. Despite the fact that the gerrymandering benefited Democrats, the state went ahead with reforms that have resulted in much more representative legislatures.

You are the one making the assertion that there is equivalency here. I've rebutted and provided evidence. If you have something to counter, please do.

What does he mean, "Get rid of the ballots?”, "there will be a continuation”?  That is not a democratic election.

How is this still a question? He means that mail in ballots won’t count. It’s how he wins. They are doing this right out in the open. Barr said this was the plan last week. It’s been their plan for a while now.

I will be extremely interested to see how the military reacts if that were to happen.

Interestingly enough Bush v Gore paved the way for this. State legislatures are not obligated to award electoral votes based on the will of the people according to that ruling. I doubt the military gets involved other than to help quell the massive violence that results.

MotherFers have been burning cities for months screaming "burn it to the ground" are now crying about "civil war" when Trump trolls a troll.

😂

People who think the Breonna Taylor stuff is bad are going to be pretty surprised in November when it gets 100 times worse.

Somebody needs to tell Trump his schtick isn't funny.

So you don’t think he’s serious?  Hard to tell.

btw, the argument that Seb Gorka got into with Brian Karem was hilarious

Yep. He has given up on winning and will now simply cheat. The country is broken. Wide spread violence is next.

I did not use the term equivalent and I’m not interested in a long fruitless boob for tat discussion like the ones you carry on with I Alone. If you seriously want to lay all the blame at the feet of one side then you can stand by that position. Trump is the final result of the dysfunction and division not the start of it.

Like I said.... evil. I know people laughed and thought I was being dramatic but here we are.

word salad:

They don’t like showing. They don’t like showing, show the crowd and this is … it’s an honor. Let me tell you. Look, I used to think that was a difficulty like it was a new camera that can’t turn, but then whenever there was like a problem, like there’d be a little argument or some kind of an anti-Trump person, you don’t see that much. I don’t want to bring it on, but you don’t see it much anymore. You know why? It’s dangerous. It’s dangerous for them, but you know, I’d see the camera would never move, whenever where there’s something like a little negative happening, that thing would turn around like a pretzel. I said, "Oh, it does move.” But, they never want to show the crowds. They never, last night.

and apparently, he refers to his wife as "first lady" and she calls him "sir".

Now, I went home and I tell you this, I go home all the time. First lady, "How’d you like the crowd?” Sir, I didn’t see it.

You didn't use the term "equivalent," but you are essentially denying that Republicans are most directly and significantly responsible for the current tenor of our politics. Sure, the political climate was already toxic, but if it was a smoldering fire in 2008, the Republicans threw a few cords of wood on top from 2008-2015. Then from 2016-2020, they dumped gasoline on it.

So the right spends 40ish years systematically suppressing representation through voter suppression, underhanded political tactics, and gerrymandering, and the left is also at fault for the "social unrest" in response to this continued diminishing of their interests being represented in government.

Got it.

Lynched just gave you a preview of how Trumpbots are going to downplay civil war. It'll all be, "But BLM!!!!"

You’re talking to someone who doesn’t even live in this country.

Not true at all. Go back and read what I wrote.

Newt Gingrich, Rush Limbaugh and Donald Trump are almost solely to blame for everything wrong with the tenor of our politics.
