I believe Munson was before my CVON time, but I was under the impression than he was one of the few not welcome back to the new board because of why he got banned, as entertaining as the lore around him is.

I was away when he got banned and don't really understand what it was over other than Paco was involved.

I'm pretty much a free speech absolutist who thinks people need to grow a pair of balls. I don't like seeing people banned, even if I occasionally butt heads with them like Moss or Munson or Toaster. So, not knowing the full story about Munson getting the ban hammer, I'm inclined to say bring him back.

Again I wasn't here either but I believe he doxxed someone and/or reached out to someone's friends/family IRL.  Don't know the details and again could be wrong, but if that's the case I get it. More than happy to leave that decision to the mods who know the full deets.

Then correct me.  I made it clear that it's hearsay, but on the old boards prior to the transition it was made clear that he did something that the mods considered above and beyond when considering letting people join the new boards, and people that were there at the time seemed to agree.  But if that's not correct I'm more than happy to hear the real story.

And it doesn't take a computer sleuth to track people's personal info in the internet.  Sheet's frighteningly easy if you half a mind and some motivation.

Ignoring the fact that people give out location/job/name info all the time around here, still pretty easy.  Not going to give a tutorial but IP trackers are widely available many free with redirect functions.  Plenty of ways to mask a URL to get people to click on it.  If you can manage to get someone's IP address you have more than enough to get their name from public record. Get a name and location and you're off to the races.

Look I won't pretend to know the details of the situation and you're right I probably shouldn't have said anything without any first hand knowledge.  Still I don't think lack of ability is really a reasonable argument.  I'll drop it though.

I tend to agree but the the key letter in EMB is the E and they had final say in what we did on their MB.

I don't think there's much of a conspiracy here.  The saving grace with Trump, as always, is that he's incredibly lazy.  He'd happily be a full-on authoritarian, except that it would require a lot more work than he's willing to put in; sending out a tweet won't do it.  Instead, per usual, he'll play the victim and soak this for anything he can get from it politically, which is absolutely nothing since he looks like an incompetent weakling who's tweeting while the country burns, all the while not giving a passing thought to how damaging it all is for the future of the country.

I was wrong to take a side on a he said/she said, on only hearsay and assume one side was correct without more information. Though I don’t agree with him often, I thought he was unfairly stalked  

I actually give him credit for steering me away from going too far left and guiding me back to reality. Which is why I do r want any speech censored. There is something to be learned, especially when you disagree.
