Like Hitler, Trump is 10x as dangerous now that he is literally a wanted man. It feeds into the persecutorial complex/victim mentality that he has already been cultivating for some time, so he remains popular with the base and it reinforces the idea of unfair treatment with rank-and-file Republicans. Now, he literally can frame this as a war and struggle for life and liberty, and what's worse is that it's very easy for him to dip back into the 2016 greatest hits for 2024. So, he's under felony investigation. The wheels of justice move incredibly slow, so I can already see his case being tied up for another 4 years. So, in 2024, everyone on the left is yelling that he shouldn't be allowed to run."Why not? Whatabout Hillary?" he says. "Hillary was under investigation when she ran in 2016, and no one batted an eye. What's fair is fair. I'm innocent, but what Hillary did was much worse anyway." He successfully muddies the waters and, in the midst of all of this, there's nothing we can do to stop it. The rallies grow louder, more provocative, and more violent. The left, in the midst of its own civil war, fails to coalesce around Biden a second time, while the Justice Department stumbles and can't put together a case fast enough. Trump wins another term, and now he's a second-term neofascist with more bones to pick than every before. That's when things really start to unravel and the purge begins. Matt Gaetz can be his henchman: https://trib.al/0HItUg9 Buckle up. Fascists still gonna fascist. July 2, 20214 yr From my lawyer friend: "So as I stated before, don't be surprised if this whole NY indictment is one big nothing burger. The CFO very well might not talk and they end up prosecuting the company for some tax violations. That's it." Followed by "He [Weisselman] might plead to 8-12 months and the company will be fined 10 millions or something but that's it." We gotta get the big fish.
July 2, 20214 yr The Trump Organization kept 'internal spreadsheets' documenting its alleged criminal conduct, prosecutors say

And there will be witnesses and documents to prove it all.
July 2, 20214 yr I mean, this is a weird case because it is simultaneously a slam dunk and not a huge deal. It's black and white illegal, and they made it easier for the prosecution by keeping 2 sets of books basically and tracking all the payments on behalf of Weisselberg. At the same time, it's not that abnormal -- the abnormal part is how poorly the Trump Organization handled it. So they will get a conviction, Weisselberg will maybe serve some time, and the company will pay a fine. It is clear as day this case is 100% an attempt to get Weisselberg to flip for a deal.

July 2, 20214 yr That said, Weisselberg has been with Trump much longer than Cohen. Like 20 years plus. I'll say it again, my gut feeling is the DA could have waited till much later to play this card. Cohen consistently says they don't need Weisselberg. They don't need Calamari. They have all the documents and evidence and books on what the Org. did year after year. They did this now to show Trump that this is not about 1 guy. It's about the Org and ALL of them.
