He will never lose his dedicated base, they are all retarded. I think almost everyone else is done with him though. While his cult is plentiful, I just dont think there are enough of them.

Being a "victim" of the criminal justice system is certainly one way to view things by the mentally ill and/or those thoroughly detached from reality. The rest of us call it being a "criminal."

Trump has little chance of winning in 2024. He doesn't appeal to Moderate Republicans, Conservative Dems, Independents or suburban women. He has his cult, that's pretty much it. But the Propaganda machine will be in effect, just like in 2022, where the Polls show a Red Wave. LOL.

How does that prevent him being tried for committing crimes in Georgia? Or all the other places he likely broke the law? Who said it prevented him from being tried in Georgia?
March 22, 20232 yr 9 minutes ago, DrPhilly said: Whoever said it prevented him from being tried in Georgia? Agreed. It won't prevent him from being tried in Georgia or by the Federal Government. It won't prevent him from additional charges, like Bank Fraud and Insurance Fraud and Tax Fraud by the State of New York or Wire Fraud for his grifting by the DOJ. This case is just the first rung on the ladder of potential criminal charges. Trump's going to make bed buddies with guys in NY and GA. Oh and let's not forget that the Trump Organization was found guilty on all 17 felony counts including tax fraud and falsifying business records. The state can go after Trump criminally on this issue as well. Joke: Cell mate, so how do you want it. Do you wanna take it like a woman or man. Trump. I'll take it like a man. Cell mate. Ok bend over and take it like a man.

Right, this is exactly why he's the kiss of death for the GOP. He has no well to pull more water from from when it comes to general election voters. He's maxed out the crazy right-wing to its fullest, they're already all in and are quite clearly one of the most passionate (and uneducated) political factions in our country's history. They're coming out to vote for him in the primary in full force, which is why DeSantis never had a prayer of beating him. But there is a ceiling of support he's always bumped up against, and if anything, the events that have transpired over the last 3 years have lowered it rather than raised it. He's not gonna tap into some underutilized and under-the-radar portion of the electorate with his rhetoric. He's a one-trick pony and he took his shot in 2016 where it actually worked. Credit where credit is due, but thinking he's gonna rekindle that magic when he's displayed behavior that is quite literally insane, isn't a recipe for success in the general.

Trump brings out Dems too. Got to hand it to him, he is personally responsible for the increase in Voter Turnout in 2020 and 2022 were historic. Because of him.
March 22, 20232 yr Little known fact, but history's shown that moderates and independents shy away from voting for extreme candidates, but they flock to extreme candidates that are under indictment for fraud.

I dunno about that. I don't see this firing up the moderates/right-of-center people he managed to convince in 2016 when it was a choice between him or Hillary. they gave him a shot and by and large still regret it. Him playing the victim isn't going to do much to convince them IMHO.

LOL. i think youre underestimating how big his base is. most of the people i see or talk to cant wait for him to run again. i see tons of trump flags around. i fully expect that if indictments happens and he doesnt do jail time, that he will start the spin machine and paint this as "the man" trying to stop him because he'll expose them. or something stupid like that that people will eat up.

Not trying to be a jerk, but where are all these extremist policies that we were told Biden would be passing? In fact progressives seem pretty pissed about Biden.
March 22, 20232 yr Trump won in 2016 because no one had seen him govern. Then they did. And now he'll lose any general election race he runs in because no one wants to see him govern again. The story of Trump in politics is as simple as that. Him being indicted for fraud/election fraud/espionage/whatever doesn't change the fundamental problem with Trump the candidate.

I think you're overestimating it. The highest estimations of his base still don't put him anywhere near close enough to win a general election. But they definitely put him over the top in a primary.

But that's not the crowd he needs to convince. He's already got them duped. It's the moderates and 'old school' conservatives that rolled the dice on him in 2016 that either stayed away in 2020 or threw in with Biden. I don't see how him being indicted changes their mind on the things that made them walk away from Trump. No doubt his base will be more riled up, but they still get one vote. (Even though many of them tried to vote for Trump multiple times....)

The good part is that Trump being the nominee on the other side guarantees that no matter how much the far left fumes, they'll come right back to Biden.
