Will he actually be able to get on most ballots? Doubtful. But The GOP won't call his bluff when he only needs to get on a handful to sink them anyway. And if there's one thing to never underestimate about that man, it's the depths he'll sink to out of sheer spite and pettiness. The issue is the primary system. Trump's cult can't make him President, but he can weaponize them to vote out anyone who crosses him. So they turn on Donnie, and he then gets dozens of MTG's, Boeberts and Gaetzs nominated in 2024. Some of them lose, but most House seats are so rigged that a bunch of them win. So the party loses power and becomes even crazier. Which is pretty much what happened in 2020 and 2022, but this would be on steroids.

He's also grossly incompetent (as are most of the people around him), which would also be a massive hinderance to getting on all the ballots.
March 31, 20232 yr I know this is too much to ask, but everyone making proclamations about this, either as a witch hunt or completely justified, needs to just STFU and wait for the actual indictment to be unsealed on Tuesday. Watching the GOP come out and attack Bragg when we have no details is...something. Yeah, when he ran for office, he talked about indicting Trump, and that was wrong. This is why I personally think DAs and judges shouldn't be elected positions -- those who are entrusted to enforce the law shouldn't have to campaign for votes. But at this point, one group is going to look awfully stupid on Tuesday. I hope that Bragg knows that he HAS to win this case if he brings it. He declined to move forward a year ago and two of his top prosecutors quit in protest. I wonder what has changed in the last 12 months. If he decided to move forward with the same basic case that he deemed weak a year ago, then it's political and he's an idiot. If he has new evidence, then...let's see it.

March 31, 20232 yr The one thing that seems likely is that Trump will violate a gag order of some kind imposed by the judge and be found in contempt.

But if it really came down to it, getting on just a few like PA's, WI's, and AZ's would be enough to tank whomever the GOP candidate would be anyways. I wouldn't put it past him at all to pull a stunt like that just to take the "establishment" all down with him.

Wonder how many more tweets he'll put out about this judge before Tuesday. So dumb, I mean how dumb is he? You are absolutely correct. If a gag order is imposed there's no way he will be able to stay gagged. So, pile on the contempt charges too. This would be hysterically funny if it wasn't so sad that he's that dumb.

He probably would have started a 3rd party then but it would've been far easier to make the case 4 years later that the base should abandon an irrelevant 3rd party candidate in order to stop a Dem from being elected. But now they're F'd. They're gonna get a wrecked candidate that's under indictment (in multiple states and possibly from the feds) and they'll have no choice but to stick with him. My argument for over two years now. They had a few choices they could have made and blinked. The bigger problem is that the lack of spine and vision affects not only the Repubs but also the entire country. The only way to take out a monster like Trump is to actually take them out completely. Until that happens, the stain and rot continues both for the Republican Party and for the country.

Not only must Bragg win but it needs to be a felony level charge and include real prison time. If both of those things come true then I'll put my hand up and say "I was wrong". In the meantime, I'm sticking with my position that the entire Manhattan escapade is a net positive for Trump overall and that Georgia would have been the better place and charge to use to go after him first.
