Also, can we just mention, Joe Biden isn’t a "scummy dirtbag.” His son…ok. But let’s stop just saying Biden is some corrupt scumbag when it is not at all true.

No. That's a strawman. I don't care if you like or don't Biden, but I do care when you try to downplay how much of an abject failure and thoroughly despicable person Trump has been by pretending like him and Biden are equally bad. You said, verbatim, that he is scummy dirt bag "just like Trump."

Again, that's absolutely ridiculous. Trump is another stratosphere. He has no equal in American politics. Period.

Would it surprise you to hear that I agree with you? You’re right. The use of "just like” does imply that I was calling them even. That was not my intent.

Go on then, provide examples. Give it your best shot to make yourself feel better for voting for that piece of garbage. I'm all ears.

Yeah but one time Biden said

Career politicians have been nothing but upstanding servants of the people. Not a single one has ever benefitted personally or used their position in a way to benefit themselves or their family, or donors/supporters in any way at the expense of others.

Yep — the lazy "lesser of two evils” argumentation that provides pretext for many on the right to continue support of Trump. Well, we can factually put that argument to bed now (so long as this indictment isn’t a sham of course).

The track record of "outsiders" is even worse.

It's a fallacy to correlate being in politics with being crooked, and to believe being an outsider running for a political position to be somehow less crooked.

There's no doubt many politicians use their positions to benefit themselves and their circle. But even if you believed it may be broadly better to try for an "outsider," of all those who would run under that umbrella Trump is among those most certain to elect policies and appoint individuals who specifically benefited him, and to use the position to enrich himself.

So to summarize, nothing.

Yeah he walked right into that one. Maybe I overestimated him, but I was expecting a proper hot take.

There's not really anything to summarize. There's clearly a predominant clique in this forum that likes to impose their beliefs on others and acts like there's something wrong with anyone that doesn't kowtow to their bullying techniques.

Since I'm here because this is a football message board, I'll use a football analogy:

There are fans that choose for some reason not to like individual players. It could be for one of dozens of reasons (the reason isn't really the point). They tend to root against that individual or for another player to do better so that individual won't last long on the team. Whether that player performs well or not, they will look for a reason to gripe about that player. They will look for a reason to continue to doubt that player. They will point fingers at the player for the reason a team as a whole isn't performing well. When that player does make a mistake or fail, it's a joyous occasion. If that player does perform well and the team performs well, they will mostly credit the team.

This is very much like how people participate in politics.

I'm not going to change any minds in here. For those that think Trump is the worst person ever in American politics, their mind is made up. How am I going to convince them someone else could be equally as bad? I guess you guys really got me with the "GOTCHA!" You knew there was no way I could change your minds ... but please ... continue with the pretense and feign disappointment that I didn't at least try to compile some meaningless list per your request. I simply found the line I quoted to be laughable. I still do.

Is it really a "belief"?  Water is wet, fire is hot, and Trump sicced a bunch of MAGA goobers on the Capitol to reject democracy and install him as an authoritarian leader (along with a list of other godawful behavior). And you're trying to play the game of "Well, politicians do all sorts of stuff in their self interest."

Hey, if you wanted to throw in something about McCarthyism, maybe you'd have an intellectual argument about bad eras of American politics. But you went with elementary school ish.  Politicians are "self interested"? Whoa, that's deep, bro. Mind blown.

Shucks! I guess I really blew my chance to impress you. I do agree water is wet and fire is hot. I'm not really sure where you stand, but I also believe men are men and women are women and don't feel the need to alter my scientific beliefs to conform to a political agenda.

Great examples, trumpbot. Be sure to vote for him a third time, that'll show us!

Does this mean we still can't be friends? I guess I'll have to wait a little longer to prove my worth.

The local Republican Association posted on Facebook that this indictment had dry a precedent and someone commented that they can’t wait until the tables are turned on "them”.

I just drove under an overpass that had a huge sign draped across the side that said "TRUMP DID NOTHING WRONG".

It's a cult, folks.

I'll use another football analogy. Patriots fans that don't care that their team cheated as long as they win, are bad people.

Are we "bad people" too?
