Even the humorless Biden should be able to land a good deadpanned haymaker with it.

Remember when Trump kept interrupting "wrong" during the debates? Biden should do the same thing but instead of "wrong" it should be "coward" or "bunker boy".

Honestly I think you may be overestimating Biden's comic abilities... Maybe they can work with him on delivery

So this is the best thread for this post.  We are now just a step away from the final fulfillment of "lock&load" as I envisioned it over the last few years and ever since Trump took over.  I saw it the moment I realized how dug in people were as Trump was elected and when it became obvious that Trump derived all of his power from the division and chaos and that he was hell bent on one thing only, his own ego.  Zuker's transformation to New Zuker and his total blinded dug in at all costs approach cemented my realization of where this would ultimately end.

At some point over the next several days to maybe a week or two there is going to be a significant event of violence and 10+ to a couple dozen people are going to die.  It could happen in Seattle as the police storm back into the occupied area or in Richmond as crazed rednecks shoot protestors taking down statues or in one of 25 other places across the country involving anything from the National Guard to a fired up Antifa wing to a bunch of white vigilantes.  I believe we've passed the point of no return now and Trump just continues to fire away the tweets stoking the flames.

What happens thereafter is anyone's guess.

I hope to God that I am wrong.

I hope you're wrong too.

TEW would have blamed the protestors and only positioned ANTIFA as the perpetuating force.

Don't let Zuker sway your opinion. I've been around long enough to remember when he was all in on Bush, WMD, and the Patriot Act. He called Vallerie Plame a "glorified secretary".  "If you have nothing to hide you have nothing to fear" was one of his favorite phrases to lob at @Toastrel iirc. When Trump loses, he will pretend he never really supported him.

However, I do agree that the country is a powder keg right now and Trump is gasoline. I think that's why he loses bigly. People are sick of it.

The Old Zuker often displayed a rationale and perspective that made sense even though his right wing tendencies were always there.  With the arrival of Trump all of that nuance was no longer to be found.  He just helped me see the rise and depth of the polarization much more clearly.

True, but the doom and gloom is similar.

Plus if we all based our predictions for the future based on the behaviour of Zucker the world would have crashed and burned long ago.

So you see it all moving into a quiet peaceful transition to a new beginning?

I'll give you that things are especially tense right now and that things could absolutely come to a head at some point.  But yes if I were taking bets I would bet on things calming down and returning to some semblance of normal within the next year.

Unrelated side note, do you have a guest house by any chance?  I cook.  My wife can perform gynecologic surgery.

In the next year? Yeah I agree with that but that’s a long way off. I think we see some more escalation before that happens.

I have a cabin along the Baltic Sea.

I'm hoping after Biden is elected and we enter the most boring era in recent memory.

But I'm not above a cabin. Ill whip up some good ol PA classics and the wifey will have your pelvic floor in tip top shape. Deal?
