From the NYT Article:

Mr. Bolton also adds a striking new allegation by saying that Mr. Trump overtly linked trade negotiations to his own political fortunes by asking President Xi Jinping of China to buy a lot of American agricultural products to help him win farm states in this year’s election. Mr. Trump, he writes, was "pleading with Xi to ensure he’d win. He stressed the importance of farmers, and increased Chinese purchases of soybeans and wheat in the electoral outcome.”

Nobody's tougher on China than I am believe me! But they will totes help me beat Biden!

People actually thought this idiot was qualified to be the leader of the United States. I'll never understand that.

Wow.

Now we know why Trump's been fighting so hard to stop the book from coming out.  That's....really pathetic.

More tough on China policy.

From Bolton's WSJ Op-ed. Offered to reduce tariffs for farm purchases to help with re-election:

Quote

Xi finally shifted to substance, describing China’s positions: The U.S. would roll back Trump’s existing tariffs, and both parties would refrain from competitive currency manipulation and agree not to engage in cyber thievery (how thoughtful). The U.S. should eliminate Trump’s tariffs, Xi said, or at least agree to forgo new ones. "People expect this,” said Xi, and I feared at that moment that Trump would simply say yes to everything Xi had laid out.

Trump came close, unilaterally offering that U.S. tariffs would remain at 10% rather than rise to 25%, as he had previously threatened. In exchange, Trump asked merely for some increases in Chinese farm-product purchases, to help with the crucial farm-state vote. If that could be agreed, all the U.S. tariffs would be reduced. It was breathtaking.

Trump then, stunningly, turned the conversation to the coming U.S. presidential election, alluding to China’s economic capability and pleading with Xi to ensure he’d win. He stressed the importance of farmers and increased Chinese purchases of soybeans and wheat in the electoral outcome. I would print Trump’s exact words, but the government’s prepublication review process has decided otherwise.

under normal circumstances, this would be automatic game over for a president.   but this is 2020, so...............

blah blah blah, Bolton's just another deep state, antifa operative put in place by libitards to try and tarnish lord trump.

wake up you gullible losers !

He's 100% bullet proof for 40% of the voters.  This will just glance off like everything else.

It's looking like that number may be closer to 35%.

Let's hope so.  Maybe it will drop to 20% as the rats clear the ship ahead of November.  I'm not holding my breath.

Apparently you never watched The Apprentice. Freaking master class.

The time between election night and when he actually leaves office is going to be scary as hell. Not sure if it’s more likely that he just says eff it and has Pence take over during that time or if he tries to do even more harm to the country in his time left. He’ll definitely rile up his flock with Electoral conspiracy theories. Either option is more likely than him gracefully welcoming Biden IMO.

Trump is dangerous and feels he's above the law, and his supporters don't care what he does.  Dangerous combo.

anyone here shocked that everything cheeto does is transactional based on him getting re-elected?  it's been like that since day 1.

Yes BUT there is a chance that he simply wilts once the pressure ratchets high enough.  Maybe he'll just hole up in his own bunker and tweet away and eat hamberders in denial until they come to escort him out.

I hate Bolton, but might buy his book.

I enjoyed reading Comey’s book for the most part.  Although the Trump stuff wasn’t until the end of course.
