February 8, 20241 yr She has no business being a judge and certainly not in this case. Jack Smith May Consider Emergency Injunction in Donald Trump Case The chief prosecutor in Donald Trump's classified documents case may seek an emergency injunction to prevent the public release of top secret government files, a law professor has said. The case concerns a huge stash of classified papers found at Trump's Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida. Trump is currently awaiting trial on charges that he was illegally hoarding the documents after he left the White House. The chief prosecutor in the case, special counsel Jack Smith, has strongly opposed the release of the documents. On Tuesday, Judge Aileen Cannon ruled in favor of Trump, stating the filing from the special counsel "fails to identify the information at issue, provide any explanation about the nature of the investigation, or explain how disclosure of the code name would prejudice or jeopardize the integrity of the separate investigation (assuming it remains ongoing)." Fogel said that it is "unusual for a judge to make classified documents public." "Before doing so, Judge Cannon was required to weigh the factors favoring disclosure: potential aid to the defense and the public interest argument asserted by the media groups against those identified by the government: release of the documents could harm national security, impair an ongoing investigation, or compromise potential witnesses in the case," he said.
February 8, 20241 yr Some good points on why SC should keep Trump off ballot. https://www.cnn.com/2024/02/08/opinions/trump-supreme-court-oral-arguments-election-snell/index.html

February 8, 20241 yr He's a criminal and a traitor and he will destroy the country if he ever gets into power again. I'm fine with whatever keeps that from happening.

You think they won’t complain about a rigged system if he’s blocked from the ballot by SCOTUS?

I think SCOTUS will kick it back to the states and let them decide individually. And yes I think trumpbots will complain if that happens with states like CO locking him out. That's exactly how I hope it plays out, it would be hilarious.

February 8, 20241 yr I wasn't too pleased with how the oral arguments in front of SCOTUS played out; Trump's attorney actually seemed quite better prepared than the Colorado attorney did. The attorney for the CO Secretary of State was also quite nervous, although better prepared. Seemed to me from listening to the justices they will throw out the CO ruling and keep Trump on the ballot. What I heard from the justices was: -- 14th Amendment doesn't give the states authority to bar a national candidate seeking federal office; only a candidate for state office -- "Give me examples of where this has ever been done" (over and over) from Thomas -- Kavanaugh seemed stuck on the belief this is not self-executing, but in Congress' power -- Even a couple of the liberal justices didn't get very good answers to their questions from Mr. Murray from CO -- Gorsuch asked a lot of questions about separation of "officer" and "holding office" Based on my listening to arguments, my guess is either 6-3 or possibly even 7-2 to overturn the CO Supreme Court ruling. Hope I'm wrong.
February 8, 20241 yr I'm no legal scholar but since DJT swore an oath doesn't that make him an officer of the US, and isn't the Jan 6 committee evidence enough to conclude that he engaged in an act of insurrection? It's clear he tried to appoint different electors for Chris' sake! And by Article 2 each State has the authority to run their own elections. I hope he stays off the Colorado ballot. I don't know what they will decide as you could say it's a pretty clear argument that he's not convicted yet and perhaps that it his saving grace. Any way you slice it, a single man and his croonies has made a mockery of our once great country. It's an absolute mess and he is a disgrace.

February 8, 20241 yr Yes but he was so wrongfully harassed during his first term really that it really shouldn’t count and should be able to get a third term.
February 8, 20241 yr Trump is now saying Pelosi caused the insurrection - so now Fface von Clownface openly admits it was an insurrection just after his psycho followers created a bill saying it wasn't an insurrection. CLOWN CAR

Yeah, but the way the democrats and Ron desantis are rigging all these elections, the elections can’t be trusted… Congress can’t get bills passed… we can’t afford to wait for them to write laws and pass them back and forth to vote on multiple times. It’s a waste of taxpayer dollars! Our system is outdated and old, it’s broken by corrupt politicians! I alone can fix it! The seeds are always being sown… fortunately magats only make up about 35% of the country and the economy is good.
