So genuine question, what's the end game of Russia killing US soldiers by proxy in Afghanistan? What's their goal? US troops out of the area?

Good question, difficult answer. All I can say is that it demands a firm but nevertheless calculated and measured response. In other words...we're f****d!

A couple things to know about Putin, Russia, and the GRU that help explain the behavior...

1. The Cold War never ended for many Russians... especially the hardliners in the KGB and GRU (like Putin). This is just a continuation of the decades of strained relations with a geopolitical foe. The weaker the U.S. becomes by being mired in conflicts across the globe, the more power Russia has. Also, these types of conflicts generally sow division internally among a populace. You should read this... BBC article on Putin's formative years in the KGB. Once you have an understanding of Putin's formative years in the KGB and how he was nearly killed by U.S. backed East Germans during the fall of the Berlin Wall, you will start to understand the hatred and fear he has of the United States and democracy in general.

2. The U.S. conducted a proxy war in Afghanistan back in the 80's that eventually resulted in Russia withdrawing from the region. This is payback.

Yep.  Snowflakes just can’t get over Trump supporters shouting white power and Trump retweeting it.  Classic TDS!!!

In related news, TEW just came in his pants and has bumped Trump up to 98th percentile IQ

trump proves again that he's a racist and a traitor...all in the same weekend.

repugs will no doubt be silent, as usual.

The really funny part of all of this was Trump's election win was supposed to make America look "strong" and be "respected" by the rest of the world. No idea how Donald Trump of all people was supposed to do that, but that was the rallying cry. Here almost four years later and the only thing we're seen as is Russia's bish.

Because Trump is.

This is a no-win for Trump.  If he admits he knew about the bounties then he looks like he’s kowtowing to Putin.  If he says he doesn’t know about the bounties then he looks clueless.

He'll happily take Door #2 here and call it the biggest win you've ever seen.

Option 3, which is most likely IMO,  is that he claims to have not known and then proof is presented that he did know. Then he’ll look like he’s Putin’s Bish, clueless, and a liar.

She’s the leaker. Also, she’s a paid actress.

I think that's even a correct use of the dash, one of the trickier punctuations.  I'm starting to have doubts about this guy.

As a side note, yes i am aware that I use way too many commas.

Freakin guy uses an em dash —   "oh look at me".

If he wants my vote, he should just use a damn hyphen -

The same end game the US had when it was killing Russian soldiers by proxy in Afghanistan.
