I'm being very cautious there but of course there are ridiculous posts from the sides (both). This isn't a new topic. It has been around for almost 10 years. One interesting tidbit in this particular situation is that there was a communication between the school and the descendants of the local tribe a few years ago and a bit of a compromise was reached. That has been conveniently forgotten of course. So the louder types pushing for the change have succeeded in taking away the tribe's voice. Too Fing funny. Note: The compromise was no use of caricatures, no physical mascot, no use of emblems with headdress/tomahawk, no war chants, feather in the logo is ok, name of "Indians" is also ok. This has been executed as I understand it. An open board meeting is coming up with this being the main point on the agenda. There was one like it a few years ago which was pretty stormy but this one is going to be a full on sheet show. My bet is the name will change now. I'm ok with that though I'd prefer a solution with the national group from the tribe if there is one out there. If not then so be it. I'd rather it not be up to a handful of student activists none of whom are of Indian descent (far as I've been told). My High School was named Indians as well. They tried to change it, the alumni stopped them. The Indians name pays homage to the site where the school was built and the school name "Council rock". Stupid to change it. Cooler heads prevailed. "Redskins" is a racial slur.

You don't think that screaming demands into Twitter without indicating how you plan on making such demands a reality are an effective way of running a country? No. It was in response of me wanting him to stay off twitter for years I initially thought the idea would be good for the POTUS to have a line of communication through social media to talk with us but I strongly regret that thought now. That's in regards to all politicians now though. They just shouldn't be on social media

If it pops into his brain, he tweets it. No filter. Maybe you should think about why his thoughts and feelings aren't necessarily what you want to be hearing or reading from your POTUS.

I don't go looking for them. The only times I see what he's posted is because you all share them It's not even his specific tweets. I even said my opinion applied to every politician. Also the guilt thing doesn't work for me

Just saying that if you don't like seeing or hearing what they guy you supported thinks and feels, it says something about the guy you supported. Unless of course the idea is to vote for a total ish bag and hope he lies to you and conceals his real thoughts and feelings.

I actually stay out of this thread because it's just a Trump bashing thread. I'm not defending him but I don't care to bash him I made one comment and you jumped on it I just noticed both of you keep typing 'they' for some reason

I just thought it was a weird statement from a supporter. I've never voted for a guy then hopes that he's keep his thoughts secret.

It shall be a small orange mushroom attached prominently. For example it can be worn as a fish hook thru ones lip or nostril. Or it could be an orange splatter of material across the face in the shape of a bunch of small orange mushrooms.
July 6, 20205 yr Quote Report: Redskins’ Name Only Offensive If You Think About What It Means WASHINGTON—A new study published Monday by the University of New Mexico confirmed that the name of the Washington Redskins is only offensive if you take any amount of time whatsoever to think about its actual meaning. "When you hear or say ‘Redskins’ in the abstract, it’s completely harmless, but we’ve discovered that if you briefly pause to remember it’s a racial slur for an indigenous group wiped out by genocide over the course of a few centuries, then, yeah, it’s awful,” said lead researcher Lawrence Wagner, adding that only if you allow the NFL franchise’s name to register in your mind does it evoke the thought of human beings devastated by the forced removal from tribal lands, intentional exposure to smallpox, and countless massacres. "It has the potential to come across as a degrading relic of an ethnocentric mentality responsible for the destruction of an entire people and their culture, but that’s only if you take a couple seconds to recognize it as something beyond a string of letters.” Wagner recommended that the NFL franchise should change their name to something more appropriate and historically accurate, such as the Washington Racist Fs.

I guess that could be if your vote made a difference in your state. Never donated and don't wear maga crap and I don't think I defend him a lot. I've called him an idiot plenty of times. I'm currently for the whole Russian bounty thing to be investigated and whoever involved to be punished. But if you don't always say something negative about him they call you a trumpbot I had his page on facebook 'liked' before the presidency but 'unliked' it after he won because people were getting crazy about anyone who liked it 3 minutes ago, Boogyman said: You really should just read his Twitter daily.
