I would’ve stayed put at 12 and rolled the dice on the Giants not taking him. If I’m wrong so be it. A 3rd is a lot to move up 2 spots. If the Giants take him, I trade down with Chicago. Go check in with the Giants forums. Everyone in those forums knew they were going to take Smith if he was available. They were celebrating after the Denver pick because they thought they had Devonta, only to be stunned when the Eagles traded up. The trade out of the 11 pick confirmed the fans assumptions. Smith was not going to make it past the NYG guys. Giants need help at the WR position.

They probably draft Slater if they stay there. They just signed Kenny Golladay to a huge contract plus they have Shepard & Slayton. I doubt they take Smith.

April 30, 20214 yr @VaBeach_Eagle what a difference from last year when these boards were new and handling the traffic. Thanks for an awesome job.
April 30, 20214 yr It’s clear now that smith would have been the giants pick. I’m not a fan of a Tooney though. The question is do you prefer Smith or say Bateman + 3rd we traded + another 1st next year (from Bears). Giants got great value for their trade down which would have been available to us at 12 as well.

The giants reached for a WR after trading down so...

As much as we all like to slag Howie(rightfully so most of the time) it was a brilliant trade.

They just reached and chose WR Toney at 20. The guy has suspect hands and possible character issues. They were completely desperate for a WR.

April 30, 20214 yr Remember, they have the 5th pick in the 2nd round abs 6th in other rounds so picking high in each round.

But, CB would be preferred, true. I think the Eagles can stay at 37 and still get a player that could've gone earlier than that. So, they are in a good position.
