Not trying to sound gay, but I LOVE the painting above the baby's crib.

I was pointed towards this thread from @paco, so here’s a small preview of our baby girl, born 7/17/21.  Wife had high blood pressure so the doctor decided to schedule a C-section since the baby was basically horizontal in her stomach. 7 lbs 11 oz. Everyone is back home and healthy.  We had newborn pictures this past Saturday, and I’ll post more once we get them back.  The 2nd is a pic I took of the photographer getting a 1 week old baby in the best position for the pics.  Andy Reid would have sucked at this.

Cuteness overload. image.thumb.jpeg.1c0446742cf32ae536be4c893089723a.jpeg

Can she drive yet? I need a DD soon.

@hputenis

You’re welcome

It’s been awhile since I have been on the boards. Congratulations guys!  Sleep will come back eventually but your life will never be the same (in a good way).

Congrats you two!

The wifey and I both had white noise generator apps on our phones, iPods, etc when our kids were little. Everyone used to ask us what the he’ll the noise was when we’d turn it on, but after seeing it work a couple times anyone that we’d leave them with would make sure we downloaded it for them first. Definitely a huge lifesaver as one of the key s’s - swaying, swaddling, and shushing.

Hell I still need the white noise to sleep - we have box fans that we run in the bedroom.  Sleeping in the dead quiet is impossible for me.

Congrats to all the new parents.  You may be tired now but just think, if you end up having more kids, you'll eventually look back at this as the old days when things were easier.

I think it was something really exotic like "white noise” or maybe "white noise Ltd” or something obscure and non-intuitive like that.

Edit: I just looked it up in the App Store… it was called White Noise Lite.  😆

We got turned onto the white noise by a video from the 80’s called Happiest Baby on the Block. The guy showed some simple tricks that worked great for soothing and quieting crying babies  I highly recommend it if you can find it, but I remember having trouble locating it a couple years ago when trying to give it to some friends of ours.

I also have this thing. It is a magical device for my 2 month old baby girl.

Have you had to change the batteries on it yet?  I’m shocked it’s still going strong for us.

So you just clunk the baby over the head with that?

No, but it does go into a shusher remix mode where it goes really fast lately and we have to turn it off and on again, so thinking the batteries are getting low.

Wow they really changed the design of the baby shusher. Back when, the earlier models looked like this...

On second look, it looks like a magical device for a 22-42 year old.

I thought I was the only one who did this. I tried white noise and it isn't the same.

My Great nephew Ben. Five months. I’m so happy for all you guys.  It seems a lifetime ago for me with a newborn. Enjoy.  The other side of life sometimes sucks but I love these moments of joy whenever I can get them.  Love love love the pics!   Keep them coming!

I don't have the opportunity to post here much anymore, much the delight of many, but please accept my belated congratulations!

Here’s one of my faves. We had professional newborn photos taken that we just got back but for some reason this one steals my heart ❤️
