September 30, 20214 yr Author Prior to this season, One World was the only season that I didn't watch the entire season. For One World, I stopped watching after just a few episodes. This season, I may not even watch a single episode. One of my brothers watched the first episode and basically tapped out. Another brother stopped watching back around Guatemala (season 11, I think). I know I keep mentioning Australia, but at this point, it's the superior Survivor and I'll watch their entire 24 episode season. If I had a way of posting it here for you all, I would. But if you know how to download torrents, they can be had fairly easily.
September 30, 20214 yr Author Ok, I think this will work for anyone that wants to watch Australian Survivor. This is their 8th season, though the first 3 seasons took place with a bit of a different format and a different host and were made back in the mid 2000's I think. I haven't had time to watch this season yet, but I plan to soon. If you watch it, let me know your opinion of it (without spoilers, of course lol) and if you like it and want to watch the other seasons, I'll see if they're available and can be embedded like below. This post contains the first 8 episodes. I can post the rest, if anyone is interested. Just let me know. Just be forewarned, if you do plan to watch the previous seasons, the opening of the first episode here, contains some spoilers for those previous seasons. Episode 1 for season 8: Spoiler Episode 2: Spoiler Episode 3: Spoiler Episode 4: Spoiler Episode 5: Spoiler Episode 6: Spoiler Episode 7: Spoiler Episode 8: Spoiler
October 1, 20214 yr Well that was moronic. I truly hope there’s no merge and they lose 3 straight. I get keeping alliance strong, but keeping such a liability and losing an asset is a recipe for failure
October 1, 20214 yr By their vote, the Yase tribe has doomed themselves to failure. They started losing on the very first challenge when they couldn't even get off the boat. By taking out their best challenge players, they're just going to continue to lose the challenges. Might as well pack up the whole tribe and send them all home. Tiffany is going to drag them down until they're all gone. Or she's throwing the game on purpose, thinking they will keep her to the end because she's not a threat to anyone.
October 7, 20214 yr This season is so disappointing. This is a great cast and it’s being ruined by the new twist of the week. I actually hope all of these half baked advantages are voted out before they can take effect. I want this powers smorgasbord to fail so hard.
October 7, 20214 yr At this point, I'm only watching out of habit. It's just not that compelling anymore.

IDK why they had to put this season on the fast track due to covid? If everyone is vaccinated and past quarantine then why can't they film as usual? It's been a weird ** approach from the start, like reminding us with the weird breaking the fourth wall that this is going to be a "different" season. Why? Just let the people play the damn game.

I think it’s because of Fiji’s laws. They have only have a 3 month or so window to play the game before the weather makes it unsafe, but I believe they have to quarantine upon arrival regardless of vaccination status. So that quarantine time eats into their 3 month window. On top of that they film two seasons at a time so, their schedule becomes super condensed.

October 8, 20214 yr Thanks, it doesn’t explain the rest of their weird decisions. Jeff’s random pre-tribal explanation of the vote, the obsession with throwing in a new advantage every episode, etc. that all is still in question.
October 14, 20213 yr Finally a good episode! Man I feel for JD, he’s just not good at this game. Also, Naseer
October 14, 20213 yr I hate it -- absolutely hate it -- when teams intentionally try to lose challenges.

I agree also, not sure what purpose it ultimately serves. I mean I get - you don't like an individual and life would be better with him/her out of the picture, but you're dominating challenges and not at risk so why invite trouble? Being worried that the other 2 tribes would gang up on them is a bit of an over thought stretch IMO. In all likelihood, the other tribes are going to be looking for safe harbor and will happily vote with whoever you tell them to following the merge. That said, I am sure sitting around on a hot beach all day exhausted and hungry, your mind is going to be making some off beat and illogical decisions at times.
October 28, 20213 yr Man this season is so weird. These twists are so dumb and not thought out at all. Its destroying what was a great game.
November 2, 20213 yr I'm not hating it, not loving it. They've definitely amped up the crazy though. I don't totally mind Jeff talking directly to camera, letting viewers inside the game a little bit. The # of immunities, the lack of food, the harsher penalties, the continuous twists... Have to guess a lot of this is because of the constricted time schedule they had to work with.
November 3, 20213 yr They've jumped the shark with all these powers. Worst season by a wide margin. "Oh you found a power but you can't vote until other people find it and recite the lines." "Oh you didn't really do anything, but here's a power that let's you steal other powers." "Oh, here's a power that literally let's you time travel!" It's all just so dumb. Cool that there's a cookout part II now, though.

Won a small battle with trying to blow that up before it gets rolling with Liana exposing her plan to blindside Evvie though. Evvie's calling her out on it at tribal was great too. Hopefully that puts a target on her back. Was nervous for a second that Zander? was really that dumb in telegraphing his move to use the idol on Evvie - turns out Liana was the actual dumb one. For both sides seemingly knowing the other ones moves/advantages, she didn't really take advantage of that info.

For both sides seemingly knowing the other ones moves/advantages, she didn't really take advantage of that info. I will give Liana a mild defense. The brilliance of Xander’s play was he took it out, presumably showing the idol and playing on his facade that he thinks she’s with him (he knows she’s not). Because he had it wrapped and mostly covered with the instructions Liana kind of has to ask him because the rule is "in your possession”. If he did have the idol, he couldn’t avoid the power by quickly giving the power over to someone else. The other brilliance of his plan was he gave it to the one person liana would not think to ask: Tiffany. Tiffany was protected and not a threat to be voted out so the obviously thought would be if Xander is faking it, then evvie has it. Liana was screwed no matter what and it’s hers and Shan’s fault. Shan for blurting she had an advantage in front of Tiffany and forcing the alliance on evvie, and liana for admitting what the power actually was to Tiffany and then using the power despite everyone figuring it out. The best play was voting out Sydney. Force Xander to play the idol on Evvie, burn it on nothing, keep your power and vote out their number.
November 10, 20213 yr Was the rule that Liana had to ask for the idol at TC - or could she just have done the asking at camp? I'm kind of torn on "Live Tribals", the chaos, whispering, huddling I guess makes for great TV, but part of me also wants to see some rules/limits/boundaries put in place that forces them to ultimately make their own private decisions without being able to plot it out in the moment with others, then live with the fallout and consequences back at camp. Like maybe enforce that you can't leave your seat during tribal, so that you can only openly declare who you will be voting for and hope others join you, or whisper it down the lane if you have people you think you can trust. Or maybe have code words within your alliance to use in case you need to call an audible.
November 11, 20213 yr Please God eliminate Shannon next week. edit. apparently her name is Shantal. either way can’t stand her.
November 11, 20213 yr So it took about 8 episodes before we even got to know that there was someone named Heather. (I think that's her name.) The editors clearly didn't want us to know much about her or to care about her story until tonight, so I am guessing she won't be lasting very long in this game.

Apparently she’s been the star of the deleted scenes they post online. Survivor Reddit has been having a field day joking about the super secret mastermind heather.
November 18, 20213 yr Hahahaha Liana asking for the idol. Jesus christ that is the dumbest crap i’ve ever seen on this show also, damn. two idol plays change entire game. oh well. should be predictable next two weeks.
